Trans-species shit is really fucked up actually. Other species don't exist because humans classified them, race and gender as explanatory forces rely entirely on the construction that humans give them. We don't have evidence that animals can conceive of something like a species identity. Do they get their that friends are a dog and a human? That those things outside the window are birds? They know that other cat is "female" but do think about what that means for them or is it all just instinctual? Do cats have social and cultural assumptions about different fur colors and patterns? Who knows! Animals obviously have emotions and compassion and so on, we have plenty of evidence for that, but can an animal understand the why? For example, I've discovered that few animals even speak English, it's got to be less than 0.2% of the entire animal population.
Cultural and racial appropriation are horseshit, for one nobody has proven they can claim monopoly "ownership" over certain aspects of culture and especially not on behalf of entire groups whose demarcations are sketchy, but species appropriation seems like it should be even more unacceptable for someone who accepts that horseshit since an animal can never consent by human standards. A Black person can say "yes, Eminem, you may rap with us." But a fox won't say "yes, you may YIFF YIFF with us."
