Man I'm so tired of this debate. She's such a broken record. 'Use literally any neo pronoun and self identifier you want unless it's the word 'queer' or anything else I deem to be a slur, if you do you're a horrible terf scum nazi who should kill themselves.'

Orchard’s a repetitive hack. He can’t come up with anything new or worthwhile. I mean, just look at his fanfics.

I knew this was wrong but I read an article about it anyway.

Why are you like this, Lily?

On Twitter: People are calling her out for using a pre transition photo of Digibro as one of her go too stock images during her rants on weebs.

This was met with the usual Lily Orchard flavour of venom.

Wow, Mikki decided to get into an open relationship with someone in another country? So there was never going to be any fidelity in this relationship, huh.

I think A Very Big Fish is just referring to the fact that Lily (who lives in Canada) made sure to arrange that she and Mikaila (still in New York) had an open marriage.

The fact that Lily thinks this absolves her from cheating is... consistent, really.

If the thread will recall, one of the things that Lily 'gave up' for Lizzy (which was later turned into Lizzy being a bitch by refusing to let Lily be her authentic self) was her 'polyamorous lifestyle'. Lily just 'catches feelings' really easily you guys, she shouldn't have to be shackled to one devoted, loving partner.

I wonder if Lily brought this up to Mikaila. With how constantly she brings up how Mikaila is so not like Lizzy it wouldn't surprise me if she guilt-tripped Mikaila into agreeing to an open relationship on grounds that 'you wouldn't want to be like Lizzy, right?'

It is pretty interesting that Lily is having so much trouble putting together the money to get Mikaila a marriage visa.

Considering how quickly Lily proposed to both Lizzy and Mikaila it really feels like it's some kind of control thing. Lily wants them wed as quick as possible to make leaving her more difficult. If Mikaila ever decides its over, there's probably some big legal to-do now with some bitch in another country. I'll admit I'm not sure of the logistics, but I do know it wouldn't be as simple as Mikaila just...blocking Lily every where she can and consider them split up. Especially if Mikaila ever wanted to marry someone else. She'd have to file divorce papers with Lily first, and Lily might be a pain about getting them signed just to spite Mikaila.

Lizzy was smart to never let it get to that point, because she really could just block Lily everywhere and move on with her life.

She maintains its not the money she says. It’s about Mikay being in Canada to sign those pesky forms. This should be what they do when the doormat shleps all the way up there again for Halloween and their one year anniversary which is the 23rd of October.

It’s been a year of marriage and they haven’t spent more than a month under the same roof.

May they both be favoured with the future of their choice. May they see a thousand reasons to rejoice. :drink:

UPDATE: To avoid double posting. She’s just getting on the plane for the cheap but long flight to Halifax. How do I know this? They decided to flirt on Twitter.

UGGGGGGHHHHHH.
Lily, neither of these are flaws. Standards for representation these days are wack. There's a million of them, so many are blatantly contradictory, yet they're portrayed as simple instructions and voicing your frustration about not meeting all these arbitrary requirements is seen as you being "lazy" at best and a reactionary at worst. These people, weirdly enough, end up being their own worst enemy by creating yet another representation pitfall, the "model minority".
To any of you reading this who fit into some sort of minority group (in regards to gender/ race/ sexuality/ etc.), ask yourself this: if you were a fictional character, would you be considered "good representation" for the groups you're in? Probably not, and that's okay.

Power-leveling here, no I wouldn’t, nor would I want to be.

I support diversity but I could care less about ‘good representation’. This might be an unpopular opinion but I think representation is a waste of time.

Also, if I did self-inserts like Orchard does with his stories, I would try to do something interesting with it, instead of turning it into some angsty revenge fantasy.

I love powerlevelling, so I'll say I'm not a good representation. I'm vanilla at best, a spechul snowflake at worst.

But now I wonder how it would go if Lily told another creator that, especially any POC ones. She would be called out for more racism, and argue she was trying to compliment the other person. :lit:

She is having fun making the characters exactly the way she did and due to the fact that she does not charge for this work no one should criticize it.

The doormat will be making her coffee and breakfast right about now so at least these kind of galaxy ego threads will stop for a while. Lily will be too busy trying to get those forms filled and visit Lower Sackville for Halloween.

ETA: I missed this from the whole “I can’t cheat I’m in an open marriage” bit. Lily can only think of boundaries in a sexual connotation. Mikay falls in lock step and says that it’s a non starter.

I was right in thinking she’d crib from the Shaun video to use as a base for all her talking points. What I wasn’t prepared for was our girl calling Rowling a child who cannot write and then repeats that statement for 13 and a half minutes. This is the lowest of low-effort content I’ve seen from her in a while, it’s almost fascinating. You think she is building towards a point but much like her wife trying to meet Lily’s sexual needs demands after a 10-hour flight, her point falls flaccid and Lily just moves on. This is internet junk food and nothing more.

I expected more from this video. Like i know she's Lily Orchard but I hoped that she'd say something new about Harry Potter...
I also don't get her hate for classic literature. I mean, I found the Great Gatsby (bc that's the only classic I've read so far as a non-native english speaker lol) a very good book and it resonated me, even though I am kind of the opposite of every main character in that book

Its heeeeeeeeere...
God, this is like a hot stove that I know I shouldn't touch, but... if it's so nobody else has to...
0:00-1:11 Intro, Lily chalks up her small pool of media hyperfixations to her unmedicated ADHD, says that lately she's been thinking about Harry Potter and that this video where she makes fun of JK Rowling is the best way to not give her positive attention.
Notes: Lily, that's still attention. And Rowling's recent tweet about her "haters" proves that she feeds on this kind of stuff. Then again, I'm watching, recapping, and analyzing your videos so wtf do I know.
1:12-2:43 Lily calls JK Rowling a child, says that you can't separate the art from the artist, and reads way too deeply into Rowling's writing and assumes that anything she writes is how she feels about that particular subject on a deep personal level.
Notes: I suppose this is a good time to mention that I don't watch Shaun's content (anymore) so I haven't seen his Harry Potter video, but given Lily's tendencies it wouldn't surprise me that many points in this video are stolen.
2:44-4:07 Lily acknowledges Shaun's video like that makes lifting points any better, says that Rowling can't do mature subject matter because nothing ever changes in her stories.
Notes: Harry became a Dark Wizard Catcher because his parents were killed by a Dark Wizard. Not a hard concept to grasp.
4:08-5:44 Lily says that the success of Harry Potter has largely come from children latching onto the characters going on episodic magical adventures together, and acknowledges that they are the best part of the series, explains why by going over her favorite scenes in the series.
Notes: Don't think I didn't notice all of that Black Hermione fanart, Lily. Anyway, the reason Harry Potter was praised for going dark and serious is because it worked. The series set up the characters in the first few books, and then set them on the long overarching journey in the second half.
5:45-7:19 Lily talks about the main character's relations to the blood purity ideology being the only thing keeping that plot thread interesting as if it's a flaw in the story when it literally isn't, says that people were pointing out story flaws since book 3.
Notes: She's right about the Chosen One plot being superfluous. That's about it.
7:20-8:25 Lily recalls that there was a huge push to get kids to read when she was in school and how Harry Potter was the only books any kid actually liked but actually these books were always objectively bad
Notes: Nice jab at "old white male" authors as if we weren't all forced to read I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Little House On The Prairie was always shoved down my throat and I always hated it.
8:26- Lily talks about people fighting for their right to enjoy things and chalks Harry Potter's fandom up to nostalgia-blindness and says that cishet fans have no empathy and-
You know what? I think we're just going to stop here. The rest of the video drags on like this. There's some stuff about Fantastic Beasts even though the HP fandom didn't like it that much and how Grindelwald is what Rowling thinks gay men are and... yeah, I can't do this.

Conclusion:
Well, @ÁchtunaRoll, you were right. This is what I get for touching the hot stove of tedium. Lily's videos are written worse than anything Rowling has ever done. I vow to never do another one of these ever again. For real this time, because holy shit was this bad. I can't even decide if this was in the "tedious cold takes" category or "morally reprehensible toxic waste" category; it has elements of both.

1. Having fun while writing does not a make a great character or story.

2. He decided to put his shit on a public website. If Jerry didn’t want people to criticize him, then he shouldn’t have published it.

3. Nobody should believe a word that comes from Orchard’s mouth. Everyone knows he’s a liar.

I can never buy that she has fun writing these stories when almost all of them are built on spite.

That whole chain of responses she has this air of coyness that gets under my skin. These asks are telling her that what she's written is shallow, bad, wish fulfillment, and her response is "so what, I had fun writing it".
Then she turns around and makes a video where she holds up an awful character like Aliana as a moral paragon compared to other media.

I've said this before but she waffles constantly over whether or not her writing should be taken seriously. It makes this chain of asks incredibly frustrating for people like me and Emmens who try and figure out what she's trying to do with her writing.
You step back you realize she tows that line a lot. Adults shouldn't be mad over children's cartoons unless they make a gay character a monster or glorify abuse. People shouldn't take her writing seriously unless she says so that week. Being a fan must be a nightmare.
