There are plenty of Twitter alternatives. They're just pissed off that they'll no longer be able to dictate content policy at Twitter (which they claimed was a cess pool even when it was their hug box).

Don't get too trigger happy on Twitter. My account got banned after calling George Takei a attention whoring faggot. I expect that this will be reversed soon enough as Musk stated he will get rid of permanent Twitter bans but don't get too trigger happy on Twitter just yet guys.

And seething that they won't be able to have special treatment because of some unearned gay sticker without paying money every month to someone they despise. They're gonna have to pay the troll toll.

Even of nothing changes, the meltdown has been hilarious, my favorites are all the faggots claiming Musk is "anti-Free speech" while at the same time demanding anything that hurts their fee fees be removed from da interwebs now now NOW NOW!

second favorite are the faggots claiming "muh disabilities" like another user already said these faggots take the term "terminally online" to the next level, they are literally whining that their favorite hugbox is no longrer "safe"

The memes have been outstanding, as have the meltdowns.

I saw a tweet earlier from a woman saying that if Trump returns to Twitter she's leaving the country, and she has her passport already. Lady, if you didn't leave when Trump was President, don't expect anyone to believe you're going to leave now.

Elon acts on ego almost entirely. This is a good thing when it happens to align with free speech because the people attacking him are a bunch of cancel-loving, free-speech denying troons. Let's hope they present a good continued target for him.

It used to be that a man wouldn't be considered truly rich unless he had his own armies. Now maybe you won't be able to call yourself rich without your own social network platform.
Instead of firing them day 1 I bet it would have probably been better to just take away their brooms and wait until they fuck up under the new regime, which they surely would.

If he wants to do anything, he has to use his broom himself. There's no point waiting. I'm not sure he has a great argument about "for cause" though and they have enough money to litigate it.

Tiktok has been an absolute plauge on socitey, so it'll be funny if Elon could fuel the flames some more by reviving Vine.
Elon really dislikes the Chinese for spacex competition reasons, though he really likes selling them Teslas. I could totally see him bringing Vine back just to fuck with Bytedance's baby.

Twitter was pretty shit well before the coomers on Tumblr joined the coomers already on Twitter. It's as if Los Angeles fell into the ocean and every degenerate there moved to San Francisco instead.
It's crazy to me how the Tumblr exodus just fucking ruined the rest of the Internet.
People always get the timeline and actors wrong, it was people being bored of LiveJournal and picking up new social media platforms for fandom purposes that spread being a retard to early Twitter and Tumblr. 2007 Tumblr was actually pretty different from even 2009 Tumblr, I wasn't around for early Twitter but considering it went online even earlier than Tumblr I bet it has a similar story.

If you want to really get in the weeds, LiveJournal was the way it was because it inherited its fandom culture from the zine and convention fandom culture of LA that stretches all the way back to post-WW2 fandom meetings in the livingroom's of pedo communist sci-fi/fantasy authors. It's actually really wild how you can trace a line from stuff like the Breen-doggle to mid-2000s fandom culture.

I laughed my ass off much of yesterday at watching that tag to see all the people showing up saying things like Hi I'm Johnny McSoybeard and you might know me from Twitter. I'm into soy, cuckolding, and intersectional feminism and the threads just mocking the shit out of them.
Please post more screenshots, I'm dying to see this shit.

>i'd expect a flood of former twitter employees to join the #twittermigration
i don't think most fediverse instances can afford to hire blue haired californians to write shit code for inflated pay tbh
These people, and in fact a LOT of people, even those "in tech" have no idea how anything works.

I'm partial to the theory that Elon is letting some of these possibilities float to test leakers and make the media look silly when they don't implement some of these things. He commented on a poll about making blue checks pay for the privilege and just said "interesting" in response to how most people said they wouldn't pay for them.

I don't know how he stays on top of Twitter while managing it, but it's a good skill because he sort of SEEMS like he's staying ahead of their retardation. It's hard to call him out of touch with what the userbase wants when he's in every fucking thread.

Yeah, earlier today he commented on a suggestion that Twitter creates content tiers based on the level of moderation. Whether he operates his account or someone else does, there's been a huge amount of interaction with users even though there are thousands of tweets directed at him.

People feel like they are being heard and that alone has made Twitter a fun place to be the last few days.

The perk (possibly isn't the right term) of being addicted to something is knowing how to properly "ghetto-rig" whatever is around you in order to consume it.

Elon is obviously addicted to Twitter. He's just using the posts and viewpoints he's constantly looking at anyway to make the company how he wants it.

Exactly. No matter what he decides, he will look responsive rather than rigid, even if he does what he planned on doing all along.
