Intellegence and the ability to memorize useless facts are not synonymous with one another. Intellegence implies you can use the facts you've memorized to manipulate your environment.

I don't know. He sounds pretty smart. He uses words I don't see often. If he's good at memorizing stuff then I'm sure he had great marks in school so obviously it's pretty useful.

I know, right? Actual genius--not just some arbitrary rating on a scale as compared to the larger population--means multidisciplinary achievement because of the ability to connect across seemingly unrelated concepts and skill sets; for instance, Albert Einstein wasn't just a theoretical physicist, but he invented a refrigerator and could play the violin. I'm sure @Autphag has any number of accomplishments under his belt.

It's useful, but only as useful as the skill to communicate it and intergrate it into outward expression, ...Autophag is no Stephen Hawking in terms of intellect and other balanced intellectual traits..BTW.

Neither are you though. Honestly I don't think you're in a position to judge that difference.
