Unfortunately text to speech exists. I remember when I was in college some guy in my class was almost fully blind and instead had text to speech on his computer and he was able to fully navigate and type with it. Going by those stories, yes that God would mark people that way. The mentally ill and retarded have a long history of being looked down upon because God is punishing them. I don't agree with the sentiment, I think God is an easy scapegoat to do away any personal responsibility on the part of the masses. Rather than trying to meet the mentally ill and the retards where they are - problems and all, and believe me they are problematic at the best of times - and helping them navigate a world that's hard enough for sane/intelligent people they can just throw them in homes and throw away the key. Or in prison these days (in Texas the most frequently used place to get mental health care is inside the prison system, people I've met have committed crimes explicitly so they could get mental health help).

It's really sad for me to see these mentally ill perverts running around without proper health care. Proper psych care can make such a huge difference in your daily life, but it's hard to jump through the hoops you need to get that treatment. It's hard finding people who don't judge you harshly just because your brain doesn't work right, especially when job hunting. It's super annoying taking multiple pills (with often horrifying side effects) at least once a day, every day, forever and ever amen. I understand why some people don't want to play that game, I don't want to either even as I do play it, but it still makes me sad to see.

I can definitely see where the sentiment comes from, even if I disagree with it. Being cautious around the mentally ill is generally good advice, especially the unmedicated. Avoiding infertile people is just retarded though, especially if you mean in relationships that aren't sexual.
