TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney looks set to earn more than $1 million this year from promoting teeth-whitening strips, lipstick and other products to her 8.8 million followers, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Industry insiders who broker commercial endorsement deals for TikTok creators say Mulvaney nets at least $100,000 each month from showcasing brands in her hugely popular 'Days of Girlhood' series.

They describe Mulvaney, who is represented by LA-based Creative Artists Agency (CAA), as a savvy operator who likely gets paid $25,000-$50,000 each time she posts about clients like Ulta Beauty, Haus Labs, Crest, Instacart, EOS, and CeraVe.

They also said Mulvaney's meteoric TikTok rise could ascend further — buoyed in part by her recent sit-down with President Joe Biden at the White House, which has already bagged her an extra half-million followers.

She could close in on TikTok stars like Charlie D'Amelio, with 148.4 million followers, and Addison Rae, with 88.7 million followers, who make $65,000-$105,000 per post, according to Hopper HQ, a social media marketing firm.

This is all to the chagrin of Mulvaney's critics, who question everything from her theatrical caricature of biological women, her promotion of trans ideology, and the appropriateness of a 25-year-old ex-male projecting herself as a 'girl'.

Kendall Fargo, president of GrowMojo, a California-based social media marketing consultancy, told DailyMail.com that Mulvaney's trajectory was impressive and predicted her 8.8 million fan base could double by year's end.

'I absolutely believe Dylan will make over $1m this year,' Fargo told DailyMail.com.

'If Dylan stays on this track, it could easily become double-digit millions of dollars in several years, by remaining authentic, and producing good, entertaining content for a follower base that just continues to grow.'

Assil Dayri, founder of London-based AMD Consulting Group, which helps companies grow their reach on social media, said Mulvaney's platform was 'very lucrative' and 'easily' netted her $100,000 per month.

'Dylan could become more of a public figure, appear more on TV, get more press coverage, and even become a brand ambassador and collaborate with LGBTQ organizations to drive awareness around transitioning,' Dayri told DailyMail.com.

Mulvaney's estimated income easily covers the costs of her transition.

According to her posts and interviews, her cross-sex hormones are covered by insurance, and the facial feminization surgery she plans to receive next month typically costs between $20,000 and $50,000, out of pocket.

Mulvaney, who first joined TikTok in 2020 after a stint playing Elder White in the Book of Mormon on Broadway, has said previously that 'Days of Girlhood' effectively pays for the male-to-female transition that it documents.

'A lot of the initial deals were tailored to my queerness and to my transness,' she told The Creators newsletter last month.

'For some of these major corporations, I was actually their first trans creator. It's exciting to make money to support myself since I lost my job, and to have my transition surgeries be covered too.'

Her agency, CAA, did not answer DailyMail.com's interview request.

Mulvaney's ascent has not been without hiccups. Her appearance on Ulta Beauty last month led to controversy and calls to boycott the cosmetics firm. Critics called her 'misogynistic' for 'appropriating' womanhood.

Likewise, a post about Tampax feminine hygiene products left some viewers shocked and confused. Two replied: 'Is this a joke?' She is frequently bashed for referring to the vagina as a 'Barbie pouch'.

She has gained a massive following on TikTok as she documents her transition to a transgender female — originally identifying as 'nonbinary' but telling followers in March that she was a girl.

Mulvaney interviewed Biden last month as part of a panel of six progressive activists for NowThis News. In the interview, the Democrat vowed to protect 'gender-affirming care,' saying states should not limit access to transgender treatments.

For those experiencing gender dysphoria, transitioning with drugs and surgery can be life-saving. Yet some experts warn against providing irreversible treatments to adolescents, pointing to growing numbers who come to regret procedures and seek to de-transition.

Statistics on this issue are contested, but there does appear to be a rise in the number of young people seeking to transition, and studies suggest that peer groups and social media influencers like Mulvaney play a role in the uptick.

Experts are divided over the rise and its likely causes. Many link it to growing understanding and acceptance of gender dysphoria, others liken it to a 'contagion' or fad driven by peers and social media.

Whether to allow young people to take puberty-blockers, hormones or undergo surgery has become a hot-button issue in America's culture wars, and Republican officials in Arkansas, Alabama, and Texas have sought to limit access to procedures.

Several medical groups, including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, support gender-affirming care and say sexual reassignment procedures are safe if properly administered.

But the picture is different in Europe. Britain's National Health Service recently unveiled plans to restrict puberty blockers and other treatments for children, saying they are often only going through a 'transient phase'. Sweden and Finland have made similar moves.

Three 'Detransitioners' who have voiced regret for their decisions​

An increasing number of people who have undergone gender-transitional procedures are voicing regret for their choices, with many saying they feel they were influenced into making drastic choices without proper counseling.

A 32-year-old detransitioner from Massachusetts going by Shape Shifter says he was 'brain washed' into removing his penis by staff at Fenway Health and The Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery, who didn't warn him of the negative effects of surgery because it was 'bad for business.'

'I will never be able to get my penis back which is extremely traumatic for me,' he said in an August interview. 'I want it back and I can't. Sex is traumatic for me now because I've had botched surgeries.'

A 26-year-old from the UK named Sam says she regrets the transition she undertook at 21.

Sam said she made the decision to transition after a mere two-hour counseling session.

'I do believe that therapy should be involved at all stages of the transitioning process to help spot and explore red flags that may appear in someone's transitional journey.

'I also think more information should be given to individuals to make sure that their informed consent is truly informed.

Alia Ismail, a 27-year-old from Michigan, is detransitioning after becoming a male at just 18.

She legally changed her name to Issa in August 2015 and underwent a double mastectomy in February 2016.

But after realizing she wanted to de-transition, the 27-year-old stopped taking male hormones in February 2021 and is going by the name Alia again.
