I think we're good for now. The last thread was locked because mod tools took literally forever to load (at 5k pages), and we have way bigger impediments to pages loading than you guys getting into flame wars.

Actually I'd like to commend everyone toughing out this era of spotty uptime, because you guys have generally gotten into way fewer fights and are less willing to derail a thread over petty back and forths now.

EDIT: I might create a new thread once the midterm drama's over, just to give a new thread a more coherent direction.

Trump is in Iowa with Grassley and the governor. Iowa seems sewn up but it can't hurt. Article from the local paper is claiming Grassley is in trouble. Even I, someone who doesn't like him would never say such nonsense. He is in until he dies.

Stupid Question, but did any cops on 1/6 get their heads bashed in? Chris claims that in the video. I assume no since if they did, the dems and media would non stop use it to shame the GOP and use it as justification for taking over.

There was one attack with a fire extinguisher, I think. The cop wasn't seriously injured. Might have been bullshit since the allegation just disappeared.

IIRC that was Sitnick everyone was alleging got his brains smashed out, but in reality he died the day after of a stroke (from the way people have been both quiet about it and reaching for causes he likely had a time bomb of a pre-existing condition) with zero evidence of blunt force trauma. The only people that died that day were a few boomers who had amphetamine-related heart attacks, Ashley Babbitt who fucked around with a loose-cannon, trigger-happy cop and found out the hard way why you don't argue with a maniac with a gun, and someone who got beaten to death by a few cops on a power trip.

A few cops got roughed up and there were some minor injuries, but ultimately it was no worse than any other large and unruly-but-not-quite-violent protest event, and the protestors by far caught the worst of it.

No, the cop that Democrats love to trot out as being a murder victim of the ULTRA MAGA Nazi attack on the Capitol died of two strokes he suffered during the unguided boomer tour.

Initially NYT reported that cops believed he had been beaten to death with a fire extinguisher but these reports were fake news and were exposed when the officer received an official autopsy.
