Untill about a week ago, twitter was the most heavily gaslit and censored place on the internet, you obviously have never used it.

The moderation rules haven’t changed since last week.
It’s heavily moderated and there are rules which is what makes it usable by normies. Just like every other large scale platform.
Information is not censored on there, even disinformation can proliferate - the pelosi thing is a perfect example of that, even leaving musk out of it.

Elon is certainly TRYING to get his money worth trolling as many frantic blue checks marks about the $8 so I'll give him that at least.

Or that grocery prices are actually fine it's just bad actor stores gouging and conservative ownership.

There's a lot of righteous indignation among leftists at the moment at his tweets. Along with preening on how "stupid" he is and how schmurt they are and how they can do better than him. It's equally parts hilarious and annoying, the former because the chimping out is amusing, the latter because it's clogging up any fucking conversation at the moment.

The best part is how they're breathlessly sharing all the twitter e-owns and rumours like they have a personal stake in it. You'd think Musk had personally broke into their homes and silt the throat of all their dogs and fucked their moms or something.

Sounds like Parler but for lefties. It will only attract the most histrionic, principled fringes of the ideology while the rest continue to chase their dopamine hit on Twitter. It's definitely not gonna attract out of touch celebrities just because they're gonna be forced to cough up $8 to keep their cute little status symbol.

Seriously though, celebrities are a huge factor in Twitter's success over the past decade and it's hard to understate that in retrospect because they brought over a ton of normies to the site in the days when Facebook was still pretty big stateside. With that said, however, you need a lot of public figures actively putting their names on the garbage they post to your platform in order to effectively attract the lowest common denominator. Mastodon got what, Wil Wheaton? Normies don't give a shit about Mastodon.

The shrieks of the activist class is so satisfying. I especially love that its entirely their fault. A day after Musk said he's willing to work with them, the ADL, the NAACP and like minded groups all told advertisers to pull out. Which meant Musk was free to ignore them because they carried out the "or else" threat preemptively. Now they have the balls to complain that he's ignoring them.
