I did not see anything in English but looks like Russian language ones actually picked it up. In that case we might be in for yet another repeat of other docs that CyberBerkut and other pro-Russia groups published earlier in the conflict.
So, how are things going? I've heard things have been going poorly for Russia. Least from what I've briefly seen.
Not much happened on the scale of gains Ukraine made in September and early October. Right now most focus is on Kherson. There were weeks of rumors of Ukrainians making a move and Russians slowly evacuating, putting in defenses, and scaling down their presence in the region. So far Ukraine has been capturing villages in the region but not the city proper.
Plenty of smaller things have been happening over past few weeks. Here are most of them in not necessarily chronological order:
- Russia has a new guy in charge of the invasion: Sergey Surovikin. He liked to use rockets on military and civilian infrastructure in Syria. He is reliant on the same tactic in Ukraine.
- Russia's current flagship and few other ships were hit by aquatic drones and/or missiles that allegedly immobilized these ships.
- Russia abandoned the gain deal and attacked Ukrainian grain ships. In response, Turkish ships started to escort Ukrainian grain vessels. That motivated Russia to honor the gain deal again.
- Iran started supplying Russia with weaponry, including drones. Both nations denied it until Iran acknowledged its involvement recently.
- Iran's involvement put Israel and Saudis on high alert. Israel increased aid to Ukraine and Saudis claimed that they might be attacked by Iran in future.
- Russia has been claiming that Ukraine has a dirty bomb and plans to use it. Ukraine claimed that Russia put explosives on Nova Kakhova dam and is planning to use them. Neither panned out yet.
- Two or three weeks ago, Russia resumed nuclear threats. Week after they toned them down and started saying that they are willing negotiate with the U.S. and that they respect Ukrainians.
- Few days ago Xi Jinping publicly warned Russia to not use nuclear arms over Ukraine. It's another chip in the "no nuclear holocaust" pile.
- UK got a new prime minister again. Soon after Sunak took over, Russia publicly claimed that the UK navy was the one responsible for damage to Nord Stream pipeline. Russian rhetoric shifted from focusing mainly on Ukraine in recent weeks to include Brits too in their threats and statements. They might be testing Sunak.
- Norway arrested several suspected Russian spies, one of them posing as Brazilian academic. Russia issued a warning to Norway over its "provocative actions."
- Russia keeps attacking Ukrainian infrastructure and Ukrainians are definitely feeling it.
- General Winter is running late. Europe had an unusually warm October. They have some extra leeway when it comes to using their gas reserves.
- Poland laid down razor wire along its border with Kaliningard Oblast and is preparing to build a wall. This is in response to relaxation of visa requirements for Middle Easterners and Africans who wish to visit the Russian exclave. Poles and Balts are expecting a repeat of the last winter when Lukashenko flew in a bunch of Arabs and tried to culturally enrich Europe with them.
