I get that these awards are supposed to be funny and, hopefully, drama-inducing, but they're just annoying. I want to read funny things and make comments that actually reflect the things I think and want to share. It's easy to walk away from sites that either don't allow that or discourage it.

I don't know what's up with them but it definitely does not feel like it's some attempt to "maintain rdrama's culture of radical centrism". But damn do I love being gaslit

Seems to me that they're just a way for the jannies to punish people for wrongthink (and provide a means for the other shitibs to do the same) without having to admit that that's what they're doing.

But what if you commit a heckin' racism or pop some tranny's delusion bubble? Empowering the user base to use shitposting tokens to buy punishment for other users (punishments that also make the site an eyesore to read for everyone) is the type of brilliant community management decision that leads to a healthy and long-lasting internet community.

Frankly I don't think the chud award goes far enough. Maybe for serious repeat offenses we can ban them for 30 days until they attend a drag show in their area, in order to support trans lives. Or for kiwicels they have to send a (GOOD FAITH) <200 word message to Liz dong Jones stating they have left the kiwifarms cult and are sorry for the numerous trans suicides they are directly responsible for. Only then will they be allowed back on our public fourm
