The problem in general with them thinking puberty blockers are the answer for trans kids is that they really are not. Loads of kids go through a phase of wanting to be the opposite gender and most of them grow out of it during puberty.
If an 8 year old today said that they thought they are trans then it really is best to wait to they are 18.
If they still insist they are then, then there is a full decade of medical advancement with presumably a greater number of experienced surgeons and therapists.

It’s still not fully understood what exactly triggers puberty and why there are children who start puberty incredibly young, and some who don’t start it until very late.
An ex of mine for instance started when she was 18. She grumbled about having to go through mood swings and stuff that 13 year olds normally go through when she was 19-21 but otherwise she grew up ok.

The best part about this discussion is that neither of us are saying “don’t troon out”, or “trans kids don’t exist”, but instead we are saying “attempting to change physical sex is traumatic and dangerous, so should not be an option for children.”
