US 2022 Mid-Term Election

How did this end up being so God damn middling? Just a big fat fucking nothing burger. I feel like dear feeder atm, my pulse is steady and unmoving.

I'm not going to be drinking in celebration or sorrow. I'll be drinking just to feel something.
Many people realized that a lot of the “hot races” (especially the ones that were considered linchpins of the supposed Red Wave) would go exactly how they thought it would. And I’m assuming that there isn’t an east way to accelerate thing for Dems in power to be removed outside of impeachments because there’s a lot of pride keeping things folks from resigning, retiring, or announcing they won’t run for re-election next time their spot is up for grabs. Hell, PA’s governor chair only opened up because Tom Wolf was termed out.

All autism aside, what appears to have happened is the Establishment only rigged the elections in their strongholds and left everything else up to the wind. Which IS the smart move. It means they were so butt fucked they had to rig their guaranteed victories. If this is the best the entire country hating your party can do though, then we have a very, very big and horrifying problem with very few ways out of.
There is only one solution, and Americans aren't ready to go there yet. I can't blame anyone for that, I'm sure as shit not putting my neck on the line for it either

Tim Pool has given up on the red wave, coping big and calling it a Dem victory.
Tim Pool is also a noted midwit who looks up to Carl Benjamin.

A man who looks up to Sargon of Akkad has no opinion worth anything other than laughing at. Plus his beanie is stupid like nigger we all know you're bald.

I'm speculating that a big factor in this is because of mail-in ballots, whether they are legitimate or not, Democratic turn-out is benefited by them. I am sure now that the only way this country's voting systems can survive is with a strong-handed restriction and regulation on mail-in ballots.

Let's be realistic here, Hochul would probably win NY anyway thanks to NYC alone. The thing with NY is seeing just how close of a win it is for her.

With PA, the governor's race was always going to be a tossup from the looks of it so him winning in and of itself is not an issue.

If Fetterman of all people wins by a wide margin on top of that, then you can start dooming hard. For now, keep calm.
Compared to NY's 2018 election, Zeldin looks to be improving upon Molinaro's results by 2-3% although that's probably since there's no third party candidates for Governor this cycle. I think this election will represent part of a current/future trend where non-urban regions and Long Island shift Republican.

Can I start playing the opening rifts to "Won't Get Fooled Again" yet?

Will tonight be another doomer victory?
It already is. Even if the Republicans take the Senate AND House, if this is the best the entire country unanimously DESPISING Democrats can muster up, then that is the blackest of black pills. We need another solution to purge NY and CA because I simply don't buy this.

Senate: Only one in-play race decided. Dem leaning went dem

House: (too big to do a screenshot), 5 in-plays decided. 3 lean-Dem went Dem, 2 lean Rep went Rep.

Governors: 1 in-play decided, Lean Rep, went Rep.

Nothing has happened at all yet.
Edit: while typing this there was an onslaught of dooming. Stop dooming. The night hasn't even started. We've gotten close to the hour, and now you're nervous. That's just how it works.

This has been much less dramatic that I thought it would be, what with the economy and everything going on with the world.

People are just so polarized I don't think opinions can really be shifted anymore. You have to vote for your home team because it's the home team. People aren't really open to ideas that challenge their world view, or they would have to concede they were wrong on some level.

Nearly everyone I know goes point blanc on how other color is evil and will end democracy, yet I have always had friends on both sides and understood the points each had. I think that's a rare quality though, since most people are only focused on dominance, rather than any healthy exchange of ideas.

Admittedly, I am sort of looking forward to the Stock market potentially nose diving tomorrow. I kind of want that Greater Depression just for the experience. Got to put all those "hard times" cooking shows I've binged to good use.

Remember, urban bugmen may be unfeeling, unthinking automatons, but their vote counts just as much as anyone else's.
