A small glimmer of hope for Portland. Hopefully in time we will see more tough on crime candidates win council races in Portland and Seattle. I really hope so. I used to really love taking trips and shopping around Portland and Seattle bookstores. Now I am terrified of even driving though Seattle and Portland. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come.

Of course. One must also remember that there is still many council members that are still raving communists who continue to stand by the Defund the Police movement. However, the fact that a tough on crime candidate who is a moderate won in a far left wing bastion like Portland is a good sign that the people there have had enough. It will take years, decades, to rebuild but this is the beginning of hopefully a good start.

Election Day ought to be a national holiday at this point, if the GOP had any smarts left.

I’ve also heard that the whole state is an exercise in why the electoral college matters.

They still remember the Iraqi war and how McConnell not only supported it but encouraged that war. They don't want either McConnell or Graham to be anywhere near a position of power for fear that they will use it to start another Iraqi war or promote the neocon agenda. Of course but here is the Independents mindset. Democrats may be spending trillions fighting a proxy war in Ukraine but McConnell and the neocons will have boots on the ground in Ukraine if they take power. It doesn't help that McConnell and the neocons have made their intentions either vague or very clear. What Independents want is no war or spending money on proxy wars. Problems is that the neocons in the GOP are not promising that and instead stated that they want more war because those fucks really can not help themselves.

God fuck no, I read the Afghanistan Papers and saw how it was a slow moving trainwreck to nowhere that was only a cool 2.3 trillion. I am not opposed to digital voting but i do think we should go to direct democracy at that point. Electing representatives just allows for corruption.

They display the exact maturity that of 12 year olds screeching about how either PS3 or Xbox 360 was the better console. However, unlike the idiots sucking off their own political parties, at least the console fanboy kids are kids and are overly emotional by default. They will eventually grow out of this bullshit and realize both consoles are inferior to PC.

However, with political spergs, they literally act like they're some sort of "marvel superhero" that fights against the evils of enemy nations or political oppositions. They never realize that politics is nuanced and often, both sides are equally corrupt. They treat both sides of the aisle like they're football teams and never say anything intelligent about the world around them.
