Is Contra even a YouTuber or content creator anymore? When he does release new videos, they made no appreciable difference in his paypig or sub numbers. His number are stagnant or dropping.
The Clinton interview made no difference. He does have a lot of "quality" subs, blue ticks and journalists with outsize soapboxes relative to their actual influence, but his influence has waned. He's bored, his fans have plenty of tranny content to fill the void. Happy belated birthday Nyk, enjoy your slide into irrelevance and the creeping inevitability of age.

Look, I don't wanna powerlevel myself here but if these POS decide to go after Joshua Moon legally... I will do what I can and have already taken steps towards that. Let's just leave it at that.
I don't know how much longevity this site actually has. I know Joshua Moon said he wants to keep it up at the very least until it's 10th anniversary in February 2023... but I remember seeing a screenshot somewhere from before #DropKiwiFarms where he already said he didn't see the point of maintaining the site past December of 2022. I don't know what his plan or goal is right now, but I am guessing he's pulling all the stops off and going for broke because he wanted out anyway. It's possible that #DropKiwiFarms has enraged him to the extent that he has changed his mind about this, or it's possible that he's just treating the site itself as a proof-of-concept right now to see what's possible. Joshua Moon has stated before that he treats these attacks as a learning opportunity for himself to learn how to be a better web-host. Perhaps the site has served it's purpose as far as he's concerned and this is just the last test. I honestly feel sorry for the guy and I do think his own future, well-being and happiness is way more important than KF. I've watched some of the smartest people I knew become way too involved with the internet and various political internet bullshit, and I've watched them literally lose their minds over it. (Hell, I'd say even Nyk is an example of that, Nyk too lost his fucking mind on the internet, he literally said at the beginning of his trooning out, in a rare moment of honesty, that "the internet had fried [his] brain"). I don't want the same to happen to Joshua Moon. I want Joshua Moon to be happy and safe and flourishing. I don't want him to go down with the ship. He's such a smart guy and he has so much more to give to the world than just KF. If KF has to go for him to move on to better things, so be it.

I do wonder that myself. Contra has stated the case an awful lot that Chris Chan/Yaniv types don't represent the trans community, but then has no problem taking a screenshot of someone saying something cancellable and saying THIS is what THEY want. He's either too dumb to notice the contradiction or too dishonest to care.
It's part of why this whole Dionysian philosopher aesthetic contra keeps chasing doesn't work. Putting aside the fact that Contra doesn't produce actual philosophical content, if your ideas and observations aren't any different from those of your average person who reads one or two books a year, then you're at best just some addict who opines way too much. Olly also has this I'm-a-philosopher-but-cool schtick but neither of them are actually focused enough to pull it off.

As toxic as this place is alleged to be, a site claimed to host "hate speech", it is one of the last bastions of free speech on the internet. A last remnant of the old internet before wrongthink police took over. The internet has been in the process of being scrubbed clean and if KF goes where will we go? Some Discord server that only a few people know about? In the last 2 years I've seen 8chan and now 9chan become obsolete. Without alternative sites there will be less opposition to the left's agenda, to their authority, and their rule of government.
Will Twitter become a new haven for free speech or have we been given false hope? The left will continue to pressure Elon and anyone else from running a truly independent social media platform. There's worse things than losing one's mind. Losing one's ability to speak or express true feelings sounds more nightmarish to me.

Indeed, it was the same famous video of Christopher Hitchens defending free speech, that Nyk once decided to argue against in his Does The Left Hate Free Speech Part 1 video:
Nyk's whole argument against Hitchens is summarized in this one line: "Well, don't think we don't notice which instances of speech you choose to defend.". Nyk's argument being that rational skeptics defending free speech prefer to defend or "platform" abominable or criminal speech like Holocaust denial over the marginalized speech of blacks, gays and women, and that skeptics defending criminal speech over marginalized voices is ultimately due to some kind of disavowed internalized supremacy on their part:
Nyk, you even you in your drunken stupor should be able to understand the difference between ILLEGAL speech - which Holocaust denial definitely is in much of Europe, it's a speech offense for which people are constantly prosecuted - and marginalized speech that is still legal and permitted to be expressed, right? Criminalized speech is by definition more marginal than marginalized speech even. Anyone making an argument for free speech absolutism, like Hitchens is in this video, is not going to take a form of legal speech as a titillating example, he is going to take the most illegal speech as an example and argue why it should still be legal and in fact protected. That's real steel-manning. The fact that Hitchens also doesn't want to be interrupted by a 9/11 truther doesn't mean he's being a hypocrite about this. It means that he recognizes the difference between giving someone the floor in a controlled environment- because you want to debate them openly and show them to be wrong before an audience - and someone aggressively demanding the mike when it's not welcomed or warranted.
Looking back at this video 5 years after the fact, I immediately notice how much more expressive Nyk's face was at the time, before the FFS botched his face. How much more alive, involved and intent he seemed about his arguments. Nyk would refer to himself as a "jaded degenerate" at the time, but he is more bored and jaded today than he was back then.
Yet at the same time, this video is Nyk's rejection of rationality. Nyk openly rejected rationality by throwing under the bus an old idol and exemplar of his, in order to declare his allegiance to the un-thinking and irrationality of the SJW TRA cult. Nyk had to openly denounce one of his intellectual influences in order to be accepted into the cult, so he promptly did just that. I therefore view this video of Nyk denouncing Christopher Hitchen's free speech defense as a form of "intellectual patricide" on Nyk's part.

I don't want to go off topic, but 8chan is still up on the clearnet. 9chan is gone but I feel like that was more due to little interest. As long as there is still interest in kiwi farms, we won’t meet the same fate as 8kun or 8chan.
Parrott has thrown a lot of people under the bus for the sake of his audience. In one of his 2016 video responses, he says he appreciates The Amazing Atheist’s self-awareness of calling his audience “THESE BRAINLESS FUCKING INSECTS”
Anyways, it would be nice for Parrott to have the same self-awareness about his audience. He prioritizes them above every cause.
Remember when he deleted his Twitter account and got in trouble for saying that he didn’t like the pronoun circle?
Both Blaire White and Rose of Dawn—seen as his critics—made videos defending ContraPoints, I imagine because they saw a shred of dignity and baseness in him. He could have totally ditched the progressive train and still grown his audience but no. No backbone. Only simper and apologize.

The more things change the more they stay the same, I guess. Despite all the grueling and botched physical changes Nyk's put himself through, his typical MO from the very beginning all the way to today hasn't budged an inch. Constantly polluting the online space with arguments that are blatantly cynical, misleading, straw manned and done in bad-faith, with a heaping side of self-aggrandizement and a deeply held persecution complex which are all ultimately rooted in a spiteful misanthropic hatred towards the dumb inferior masses he considers bigoted and beneath him. And don't forget our special guest: armchair psychoanalysis - thrown in for good measure to not only give himself the trappings of superior intellect and authority but to also further radicalize his cult audience by implying that the targets of the glorified hit pieces he calls "video essays" aren't just merely mistaken, but are actually, ontologically evil and thus deserving of severe, unrelenting punishment.
I wish we could all just dismiss Nyk as a lone nut job, but as someone old enough to remember how open and fun the internet used to be in the before time its absolutely tragic how completely normalized this particular brand of psychotic anti-discourse has gotten. I mean, how many major sites haven't gotten substantially more toxic and censorious over the past decade or so? Still, it might be interesting to look back on Nyk's older videos just to see how well his arguments have held up, or rather how well they haven't. Like his Cancelling video, for instance, where he defended James Charles from the "mob" who were too quick to judge him after Tati's first video... only for it to turn out James actually was sexually harassing underage straight guys all along. Or his Cringe video where he scolds the internet meanies for gawking at Chris-Chan's increasingly disturbed behavior... only for Chris to later confess to raping his own mother. I'm sure there are many other examples you guys can think of but it seems to me like the talking points Nyk comes up with in his videos have a tendency to age almost as poorly as he has.

(That being said, I don't think anyone should be canceled for using the word "retard." Just a noteworthy outdated term.)

For the record, when I registered here under this alias, I had no idea that "KYS" was an acronym for "Kill Your Self" until it was pointed out to me. The "-kys-" in Nykysnottrans was entirely unintentional. I didn't learn about this "KYS" acronym until 3 years well into using this site. I am not kidding y'all, this is the truth. I literally never saw anyone use "KYS" as an acronym when I got online. I don't know when this acronym became popular but it was definitely after my time. If anyone here thought I registered under this name because I was telling Nyk to kill himself, please go and read my actual posts in this thread when I first got here. Every other post here is me being mad at Nyk for being so openly self-destructive, saying he expects to die within 10 years and wasting himself away. For this, for telling Nyk to not be self-destructive, I am a bigot who deserves to kill themselves.

Yeah, I just read Elon Musk's tweet about the legacy checkmarks. Nyk's @contrapoints Twatter account is from 2009 but I don't think he got verified until 2021.
