I love it so much when autists in the pokemon fandom try to make things dark and mature. Thing is a darker story can absolutely be done right in the hands of someone with actual skills (Pokemon Black/White is an official example from the series itself) but most of the time it's either a teenager's first attempt to write something serious or a womanchild who may also be a degenerate groomer *cough, cough* Floraverse *cough cough* who refuses to move on from her childhood and happens to be really shit at writing.

I think what bothers me most about this is that they do these things with the hopes that, someday, someone tells them 'thank you for writing that book, I learned to suck dick from it'. They hope so hard for that moment, as if it will justify all the criticism. Thanks to THEM someone got their dick sucked. Something so hard to learn about in 2022, despite the existence of the bloody internet.

They create these things for the express purpose of getting people fucking. Kids. Because yeah, teens are kids. And they are so worried about the kids being able to fuck, they must persevere aginst the haters and illustrate just exactly how they can do it, so they do it right and can someday thank them for it.

This is groomer behaviour no matter how you slice it. Yeah teens need sex-ed, but not a step-by-step guide on how to finger themselves. Fucking weirdos.

I remember once there was an older gentleman on Youtube (who, alas, has been taken down for making "wrongthink" content and hasn't returned since) who talked about what relationships were like for LGB people in the 70's. They would scoff at the idea of settling down with a single partner and were so hypersexual some men could cottage with eight, nine, even ten partners in a night. It is a common trait in these communities and is still very prevalent today.

The people who wrote and drew what I'm going to call Oh Joy Sex Toy - Kids Edition! fit the cottaging description to a T. They have no idea how children actually feel about their bodies when they start to notice the changes going on, and without a doubt see books that are more clinical and reserved about these topics as old fashioned and prude. Books like the latter show why these things are happening to these kids, not tell them: "your hormones are here so start masturbating!"

I'd say fuck the people involved with OJST but they're so degenerate that probably turns them on. So instead I'll say go to a library and read older books on human biology. It would probably drive them mad.

These days they're trying to normalize it as "being poly". Because normalizing promiscuity is better than accepting you have a fucking problem.

The top review in Goodreads for this book is from a real Sex Ed teacher who also believes no teen, parent or reasonable adult was shown the book before it went to publication. Apparently it tells kids:

- Sexting is fine, just do it with someone you trust and crop your face out of pics.
- STIs are "no big deal"
- Pay for your porn.
- If you think you're into a kink, just Google it.

Just the first one should get this book thrown out from any school because telling kids to produce CP is a literal crime, as should be telling them to Google kinks. Also, where the fuck is a kid gonna get money to pay for porn? May as well be telling them to steal their parents' Credit Card to pay for it.

Moen is a proud degenerate but this insistence of hers of being some sort of sexual saviour for the kids, I think, truly takes her creepshow to another level. She has been very explicit about how she never wants kids and has a fucked up relationship with her family -- so this need to write 'for the kids' is not based on any real knowledge of what modern teens need to learn about sex in order to stay safe. It is based on what she, an adult whose entire personality has been moulded around sex, sex and more sex, THINKS she would have liked to have known back when she was a teen. And I don't know what that time was like for her, but no healthy childhood creates an adult like her.

Was thinking about going back and getting caught up in it - a few people I know told me that the comic has apparently improved over the years, with Mora becoming a more likable character, etc. - but given that I last dropped the shitpile back in 2017, I'm hesitant. Somehow Sinfest is on like it's 3rd rebrand. It was a more sleazy Calvin and Hobbes to start, then spent a decade tearing apart all the old characters with feminist politics after Ishida started dating a radfem, and for the last few years he's clearly dug into a ton of internet conspiracies and the whole comic is just...amazingly weird.
Like, for the past few months I'm pretty sure he's been bitching about adrenochrome treatments and big pharma. Using a Handmaid's Tale motif. I feel my sanity slip further away as I read it, but I can't stop.

It's the ones that showed a ton of initial improvement, then just put the art evolution in park for a decade, that I find the most fascinating. Best example being Questionable Content.

Yeah, the art style hasn't improved... pretty much at all, really. Seriously, the obsession with tits it the only even remotely constant about the comic.

What's worse; I can't remember where I last dropped the comic, so I'm going to need to go over the entire damn thing again to figure out where the hell I was. Yay.

At least the Webcomic Relief's old review on the comic is still accurate up to a point...
