It's actually amazing how Russia went from having a decisive advantage over Ukraine to the point where it felt inevitable that they'd slowly gain ground over time, to now where they're getting absolutely raped by logistics issues that are leaving troops completely vulnerable by being cut off from the supply lines.
Russian method of war has always been "throw people at the problem until it goes away or Winter turns up". Which is fine when your military is 10 million+
The Push vs Pull method continues to bite the Russians very hard and it will now take far, far too long to fix it.
Day 7 says you will be delivered x rounds of ammo and no food? Guess what, Day 7 delivery is x rounds of ammo and no food. Doesn't matter you've not had any food in 3 days, or the ammo which does turn up is rusty as shit, the logistics guys did their thing.
Ukraine, meanwhile, has been operating the "pull" method of logistice since 2015/2016 and this now permeates deep. Shit you use up on the day gets logged and reported back and the logistics boys do their job and load up the trucks necessary. Never mind a ton of it is shiny, "new" Western Kit, or that some of it went missing before it reached the depot, the entire western military industrial complex is happily clearing warehouses, old stocks and prepping new stock. You're still getting a far more efficient unit at the end of the day.
