Supposedly there is missing footage that the studio wanted Kubrick to cut out, and Kubrick being Kubrick he refused. After he "died" the edits were made and the film released posthumously. The tinfoil is he was killed because of that movie.
It was also originally called Jaded Eyes Wide Shut, make of that what you will.
