Phil really needs to just stop trying to defend the existence of his "podcast". No one wanted it at the time (besides him to justify the excessive length of the prestreams), no one wants it now and hate it more because it's cutting into gaming time. They come for the games and all that, not to hear an out of touch old man bitch about the most mundane shit for the umpteenth time. And on top of that, it was his idea, since he was trying to claim that his prestreams were already a "podcast" just because he talked for hours.
Except he doesn't talk to anyone on his prestreams, he just talks at them for a couple of hours. He hasn't had a single guest on a prestream and the likelihood of him ever doing so is so small that you may as well say zero. The actual only normal social interactions come when he's at the till, being asked to pay for the shit he buys or when he's getting his hair done at twirls and curls.

It's the power of narcissism, Phil genuinely believes he is the center of the universe and the most mundane things turn interesting when he is talking about it, also you should care about his boring stupid life because he is the main character while you are an NPC, and he also believes he knows everything so he can give his 200 IQ opinion on things. He tries his utmost NOT doing his job. Makes me wonder how his work ethic was at the helicopter company. I mean I heard he got a laptop so he could finish his work at home so i assume he was either lazy or just slow
This is where Phil's logic is non-existent. He says he wants the detractors to leave him alone. For the most part, his game play is so trash that it's really the most hard-core DSP fans that will stick around for it. The real goldust is in his insane ramblings, which he generally does on the "podcast." The restreamers now generally focus on tearing apart the lies of his "podcast" because his lying is so egregious its not worth it to stick around for the gameplay.
People say that Phil actively made his gameplay safe and boring on purpose to dissuade TIHYDPs. I'm not sure if he's THAT conniving but it's true there isn't much to his game play. Maybe that's the intent behind picking the medium difficulties and using guides.
He looks like a guy who is trying really hard to pander to kids or to pretend to like videogames to connect to his children. The funny thing is that despite having played hundreds of games, i don't think Phil knows much about them. I don't think he would know what a model is, what a texture is, what scripting is or anything related to videogames other than "you play them".
