All of the candidates are awful. Trump is great because he is funny and because he fucks up the eatablishment grift. This is something few people in the MAGA set want to admit: most of the MAGA candidates are just awful.
^This is where it all falls down. If DeSantis goes for the Presidential nom in 2024, who's gonna take his place? Unless he's secretly preparing an heir to the GOP Floridian throne under our noses, Florida is gonna be left wide open for the Dems, and they WILL pounce. And like other people have stated, you can't win the White House without Florida.
- Florida is a Republican lock for the foreseeable future.
Zoomer here. At least millennials had a good, long taste of prosperity, a true sense of colorblindness, and a belief in America as a good country. We got a fleeting glimpse of the former but Orange Man was the one to bring it about, so of course, it had to go. Which lead to the 2020 election, which blew the shit out of the latter. And wokeism, which killed colorblindness, came about because Occupy Wall Street scared the shit out of the elites. Fuck millennials (the coomer/participation trophy generation) and boomers (old farts who think what worked for them will work for everyone else) for ruining everything for us.
I don't disagree that it's possible to be successful (hell, without PLing too much, you could argue I'm a case study for success through hard work). But the problem is, there are too many of us who'd prefer just to be lazy asses and just coom to their porno all day. And yes, a lot of that is down to internal factors. But you cannot sit there and say that the indoctrination factory that is modern education, or the 24/7 access to social media (AKA: more propaganda) did not have at least SOME part in it.Trumpy bear isn't going to save you. "Colorblindness" wasn't really a thing except on feelgood TV shows -- and there's even a 2005 episode of The Office where a diversity coach says that 'not seeing race' is just being ignorant. If you want to sit online and blame problems on other generations, or capitalism, or wokeism go right ahead. Just know that it reflects poorly on you and most successful people don't engage in that sort of behavior very much. And yes, it's still very possible to be successful. If you disagree, you sound a lot like a millennials would after the 2007 financial crisis.
When the Democrats take the House but not the Senate, its a "blue wave"Red waves don't exist, lmao.
Never will.
Why wouldn't he?^This is where it all falls down. If DeSantis goes for the Presidential nom in 2024, who's gonna take his place? Unless he's secretly preparing an heir to the GOP Floridian throne under our noses
Maybe this could be due to DeSantis having down-ballot clout, but R's won bigly in Florida this year. They now have a supermajority in the state legislature. It's the new Texas.Florida is gonna be left wide open for the Dems, and they WILL pounce.
Biden did, legitimately or otherwise. And like other people have stated, you can't win the White House without Florida.
Stop with the second hand embarrassment.Trumpy bear isn't going to save you. Didn't somebody ITT say that the right-wing has an "all-or-nothing" mentality? Where if they get anything less than exactly what they're aiming for, it's an "unmitigated failure"?When the Democrats take the House but not the Senate, its a "blue wave"
When the Republicans take the House but not the Senate, its "underwhelming performance"
To be fair, context matters here. In a year where crime runs rampant, inflation is (starting to) runaway, coming off lockdowns that studies are starting to show to be unjustified, and the POTUS dementia is on full display, anything less than a full sweep should have been unthinkable. When the Democrats take the House but not the Senate, its a "blue wave"
When the Republicans take the House but not the Senate, its "underwhelming performance"
When peeps can't buy food, pay their mortgage/rent, and are paying $10 for a gallon of gas or diesel, shit gonna get real in a hurry. Not even going to speculate on a foreign conflict breaking out, but that would be icing on Trump's cake and his election chances.
This is something few people in the MAGA set want to admit: most of the MAGA candidates are just awful. Kari Lake likes bashing the media but does she have any kind of skill set to govern Arizona? Of course not, so she’ll just bring on a bunch of AZ GOP people and you get another Doug Ducey term effectively. That’s what happened with Trump where he had to bring on swamp creatures nobody liked such as John Bolton. Having no experience but claiming you’ll tell it like is does not cut it with runaway inflation, record high immigration, severe water shortages in Arizona, etc. I’m focusing on Lake just as an example but she can be swapped out for the vast majority of MAGA candidates.
This means fuck all if vote counting is still getting fucked with in 2 years though. Venezuela is pretty much hell on earth and the same retards are still at the wheel. Muts at least have guns but if we are already talking of going there then we already accepted that a by the book approach is off the table.
I wouldn't say that's exclusive to the Right. It's a product of our time.Didn't somebody ITT say that the right-wing has an "all-or-nothing" mentality? Where if they get anything less than exactly what they're aiming for, it's an "unmitigated failure"?
It depended on where you lived, and even then, that went out the window once Obama was campaigning because people wouldn't shut up about him being black, which misses the whole goddamn point of being "colorblind". To this day, I wish I could just go back to believing skin color was just the result of being out in the sun for too long, but then I started to learn that ethnicity was much more complicated than just "skin color". I just want to be told interesting stories of the culture of where your family came from, I don't give a shit about what you look like.a true sense of colorblindness
Again, it depended on where you lived and who raised you. When we went to Iraq, the rumblings about "Are we the baddies?" began and then when Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac kickstarted the recession, suddenly no one was feeling prosperous and good about it. Maybe the older Millennials had a taste of being able to forge one's own success, but more people in us two's age-ranges became disillusioned as we were starting to enter adulthood (teenage years for Zoomers) and suddenly shit was collapsing around us before we had a chance to prove ourselves. Most of us didn't come from well-off middle-class homes and shit for good opportunities, y'know? And college is a scam we still fell for because our parents thought college was still the same like how it was for them when that's not true.and a belief in America as a good country
Late 90’s (‘95-2000) is the generally accepted border between Zoomer and Millenial. The distinction I personally find useful to make is that millennials are people who lived through the rise of the social media and smartphones, whereas zoomers never knew the world before social media.Define zoomer. What year range is that? I'm in my 20s. I'm feeling the effects of the impending recession under this administration, especially after graduating from college.
"Oh no, that means I won't be able to purchase Sony/Apple product!" More like, I would barely be able to afford an apartment and buy food if prices continue to increase. Representation doesn't mean shit if I cannot support myself or ask questions without being labeled a bigot/racist/sexist.
I feel sorry for our future generation having to deal with social media influencers and butchered education system.
A lot of them can and will. For reasons that elude me, the last couple weeks have reawakened a horribly self-righteous streak that made the GOP insufferable for so long. If they want to deal with the doomer problem they need to reckon with its causes. My fear is that they’d rather pontificate. But you cannot sit there and say that the indoctrination factory that is modern education, or the 24/7 access to social media (AKA: more propaganda) did not have at least SOME part in it.
