Mercy is a thing for some people. I know not here but like I don't know, 20 years is a liftetime for anyone, and even if he got out he wouldn't have much of a life to look forward to on the outside.

The bailiff team has made a point of treating Brooks pristinely and with kid gloves during the trial process, as has the judge, because they don't want to give him any grounds for appeal.
