Don't know if this has ever been posted here, but if you are looking for an actual worthwhile criticism of RWBY itself, someone on the Sufficient Velocity forums, a woman going by the handle Leila Hann, did a blind watch of RWBY and did an entire forum thread giving her thoughts. All of her critiques are properly threadmarked, so you can jump from one post to another without having to worry about reading anything in-between. There is also a reader mode that allows you to only read the threadmarks. The reason I bring this up is because its one of the better, more thoughtful critiques of RWBY I've read, and brings up criticism I don't even see many other RWBY critics often bring up. Now, reading some of her posts, she seems to have leftist/potentially SJW beliefs or leanings, but these beliefs don't define her critiques. She keeps that stuff limited to certain posts and at a bear minimum. She's mainly focused on critiquing the story and characters, not the creators political beliefs, for the most part.

Reminder that Kdin Jenzen used to be Tatsudoshi, a -Z list youtube let’s player who gained minor notoriety in the auts for being edgy while playing games like Halo and Resident Evil 5 with his wife (Spazzy Koneko, who cucked him) and her brother (Corn n Bourbon). There are still videos out there of him making edgy jokes and calling people niggers. Michael and Gavin are retarded, but this idiot really is the last person who should be crying about others being offensive.

Edit: This is extremely off topic but if anyone ever finds his let’s play of Hatchet Ninjaz I’ll be in your debt. That was in the post-divorce era and he was still dropping N bombs lmao

I like Wayforward but hot damn is this a stinker. This is basically the downgraded version of that sick looking Chinese fan-game that Adel Aka kept peddling before RT hit it with the big C&D. The VA's are all passionless and sound like they don't want to be there, the UI looks like it was ripped from a unity asset, the gameplay is incredibly bland, and the graphics is the definition of mid. RWBY:Arrowfell is basically your bog-standard mobile game compared to the cancelled Chinese fangame, and that one was literally a mobile game.

Funny you mention mobile game because this is basically the same design and looking at the trailer gameplay as Mihoyo (the guys behind Genshin Imapct and Honkai Imapact 3rd) but as a side scroller.

Also, I think the lines from the characters are ripped from V7 of the actual show (not show if anyone mentioned if the VAs came in for special dialogue.

It really does look like ass and it is extremely barebones mechanically. I cannot fathom why they didn't just make a 2 hour long beat em up with a bunch of unlockables.

A side scroller beat em up would be the easiest fit for RWBY bar none. It doesn't even have to be complex, just have some flashy combos and the ability to play as the main 4.
