The funniest thing about all the redraws of this painitng is that none of them are able to get the arm poses and perspective right, not that you needed any more confirmation that they lack artistic talent.

Ok this is a stretch but It may have to do with how a lot of left leaning people are anti religion and a common view point is that "Satan is the good guy". Its a common interpretation for the story Paradise Lost.
In reality its about how his pride caused his downfall. He presented it as "freeing his kin" or something like that, but the truth was he thought he was better than God and he should be the one ruling.
Its honestly a good analogy for a lot of these people. All the virtue signaling its just to feed their egos but they delude themselves into thinking they are doing good for others.
