Kids must not know most people think what they are being forced to endure is disgusting.
They must never be let out of the bubble that says freakishly painted men in women's underwear rubbing up against kids is a good thing.

If the kids ever found out that most people are against this they might listen to their own feelings of disgust.


In reference to the earlier story about Wendy getting locked up and Desmond becoming a hobo way back in the day I like to imagine a different ending.

As Des rides west he naturally spends a lot of time at rail yards.
He befriends an engineer who looks after him, helped him find odd jobs and makes sure he gets a good meal now and then.
The engineer notices that Des has a real interest in trains and is a fast learner.
When he is of age (I think railroads hired on at 15 back then) this engineer puts in a good word for Des and he hires on.
15 years later after much hard work Des works his way up to engineer, travels the country, meets a woman, gets married, has kids, and eventually enjoys a long retirement and a nice railroad pension.

The railroads in the US are either pseudo government outfits like Amtrak or Megacorps that have gone in hard on DEI and globohomo.

If Wendy would let him 18 year old Des could absolutely parlay his online fame into a railroad job.

Amtrak even had a separate webpage for queers.
I guess that was just for gay month

Anyone doubt that publicly traded Megacorp Union Pacific would love the press and bump to their DEI social credit from Des showing up in pink striped overalls to run this locomotive?

This loco represents UPs employee groups.
Basically they have them for women, all races but white, LGBTOMGWTFBBQ! and veterans.
I may be missing an oppressed group or 2.

I doubt Des is up to actually working as an engineer.
Long hours, being away from home for weeks at a time and all that.
No matter becase I bet UP or Amtrak would be glad to put him though engineer school, get him to where he can operate a loco and short train. Then use him for PR.

The rest of the time he would have a cushy 9-5 make work job talking about being a they them.

No way WendyLou will settle for that sadly.

After his clothing line flames out I suspect local politics and or running a gay bar is the plan.

This is reminding me a lot of what happened to the Jani Schofield thread. Let's not become the Jani Schofield thread, or else we'll have people making fanart of a straight and healthy Desmond and unironically posting that they want to give him hugs and cookies.

Right. Don’t worry, I got you. My frustration really was aimed at Wendylou. I kind of broke my own rule at not looking at threads involving kids because it’s easy to be MATI but I got reminded that Desmond was a thing and peeped here to see how he was doing. Knew it wasn’t going to be good, to put it lightly.

I'm going to put on my rose-tinted glasses and observe that 98% of 15/16-year-old would neither notice how cool those elevators are, nor find out about them, nor post it on SM. So even if it was actually a pitch to Macy's for a business relationship (...) the combination of this and the train engineer stuff gives me hope that he will develop as he matures into a focused person of some substance actually doing things rather than getting pulled fully and only into the influencer/slacktivist banality. Oddly vs most kids, I think that going to an honest, substantive life might require a hard rebellion against Mom.
