At the same time, it was a great sign to folks how much traffic was on twitter in a 24 hour period too. Seen someone mention between the world cup and trumps twitter coming back on it might be a pretty strong stress test as well. I think i remember tons of former twitter people claiming it would be down in a matter of hours. Maybe, just maybe they were full of shit.

I think a lot of us are just excited to see everyone freak the fuck out about it.

Personally, I was slowly dragged onto Twitter for art reasons then forced to listen to fucking awful political takes. Now everyone says it'll shut down and jump ship and I feel vindicated.

When you think about it, the past 3-4 months was really an autism holy war. The fact that we survived and now see the journalist platform threatened by forces outside of both our and their control is highly cathartic. We had a good start going into a rocky middle, but could the continued existence of Kiwi Farms and the whole twitter fiasco be proof of the Year of the Chud?
