Doctors can only do so much. Its the patients responsibility to read the post-op guidelines and adhere to them. If you're not smart enough to follow them yourself, at least have someone competent who can to look after you. (Not the internet hugbox) When my friend had surgery I cleaned his apartment with bleach, sanitized bedding and clothes on hot cycle and wiped down all light switches remotes etc. I wanted no chance of complications, sepsis or infection.
