My parents freaked when they heard I had seen part of Maximum Overdrive, which is tame af compared to today's movies (it's so tame that my husband liked it, he hated The Craft on the other hand, for reference).

So I don't know if I'm clutching pearls because of how I was raised or if letting a small child watch rated-R horror multiple times is bad parenting. I'm probably clutching pearls, but it does at least raise my eyebrows a bit.

Now, wait just a minute. You're telling me it's possible for people use the unfalsifiable, self-declared nature of "gender identity" for one's own personal benefit? As in, a person might simply declare that they are trans in order to gain certain advantages within the legal system? But I was told that was impossible!

The shooter is supposedly claiming to be nonbinary in order to avoid hate crime laws. But it is inconceivable that say, an actor could claim to be nonbinary to divert attention from his violence against women, or that a sex offender could claim to be a transwoman in order to get into a female prison. Thinking that a bad person could do those things is just right-wing transphobia.

I don't think you're clutching pearls. I knew a guy who said he was seriously traumatized by Child's Play when he accidentally watched it as a small child. But what's even worse is posting this kind of stuff publicly. Parents publicly posting embrassing shit about their kids, especially with photos, belong to a special ring of hell.

Thanks, I hate him. Literally troons are the same as people with bipolar, schizophrenia, drug addiction, etc. They all think they are the center of the fucking universe and have no interest in anything other than themselves. Pretty sure it's a joke. IME parents do occasionally make jokes about kids watching highly inappropriate movies ("the 3-year-old keeps asking me to put the Saw III DVD on again. She's so obsessed!") and in a middle-class milieu it's ridiculous enough to work as humor.

The kid was lining up his toys in a certain way and the troon snapped a picture and then made a public twitter joke about The Human Centipede because that's where his mind went (because if he had a good sense of boundaries and appropriateness, he would not be a troon)
