I think Musks Jobsian Reality Distortion Field warrants some mention. it is not in the same league as Steves, but on the other hand the media has been kissing his ass relentlessly (until he threatened to disrupt their pet social media site of course.)
Not including traditional ports on the original iMac was daring and forward-looking, while disabling fully-functional radar and parking sensors because Tesla can’t be fucked to differentiate the software between old and new cars is borderline criminal and truly encapsulates the core Tesla 80/20 philosophy.
In the same way that fusion power has been 10 years away for the last 50 years, Full Self Driving is coming within a year for the last … idk, 7+ years?
When the Model S came out, it was the Mercedes S-class of electric cars not only because it was the first decent electric car on the market, but because their price was similar. Passing up the endlessly refined pinnacle of German luxury automobiles would get you a badly assembled Ford Fusion/Mondeo with “minor” teething issues like the door handles sometimes not working. On the upside, you got a big flashy touch screen and amazing acceleration - and at least the doors would always close, unlike the Model X. It would have been even better if Musk had hired someone with experience in making a car nice to drive, but this was probably not a priority because Full Self Driving is just around the corner.
A flight stick is perfectly safe as a steering wheel, just like eschewing buttons and making most functionality only accessible through the touch screen, forcing drivers’ eyes off the road, is not a safety issue, because Full Self Driving is just around the corner.
And now they are supposedly putting the finishing touches on a dedicated custom-made supercomputer that will definitely surely indubitably transform Full Self Driving from a cool-but-lethal tech demo to something that will not cause Tesla an endless tsunami of wrongful death lawsuits ANY DAY NOW.
The original Boring company plan to put a car on a car so it can drive in a tunnel is the most amazingly retarded realization of the Xzibit meme that i have ever witnessed. It takes many many years to build these tunnels, and Full Self Driving is just around the corner (competitors surely working on similar tech also) but somehow they can’t just put the car in the tunnel. Until they actually build a pre-alpha test doing just that - plus requiring human drivers - and end up with fucking traffic jams underground. The thing that is supposed to solve traffic! I can’t imagine Elon is genuinely tarded, so i must conclude that this is some kind of deliberate troll move to see how gullible investors/public really are. Turns out, very.
Musk has something like 9 kids now, but it appears they are almost all IVF? Isn't that funny? Is he the worlds most successful incel or is he just not that fertile (and compensating by numbers)
Lots of wild stories from SpaceX employees too, though they're difficult to substantiate.
I was an intern at SpaceX years ago, back it when it was a much smaller company — after Elon got hair plugs, but before his cult of personality was in full swing. I have some insight to offer here.…

This is truly intern-level understanding of corporate culture. The CEO has advisors, people who try to achieve personal gain by being the source of good advice? Shocking! The CEO does not do day-to-day decision making but delegate that shit to focus on the bigger picture? Unheard of! Employees try to pitch their ideas in a way that leadership finds appealing? Deceitful! Slackers jump through hoops to appear to work harder than they really do? Unbelievable!
