Nemesis could enter a few save rooms, though.I think Nemesis failed for me for the same reason Lady D did RE8: I already figured out all the tricks of how to deal with the stalker-type enemy with Jack in RE7, and once you realise you can just kite them while you do whatever you need to do and where they'll always despawn/not enter it takes all the tension out.
I kind of wish they'd fucked with people in RE3/8 by having Nemesis or Lady D burst into one of the save rooms.
The only part I actually remember in GOW 2018 was when Kratos got his blades back and went to helheim. Because it was the best part of the game.Because "characters" and "story". Ignoring that the only thing these new God of War games really has going for them is characters (and even then, only half the cast is actually well written) because the story is hamfisted nonsense filled with mcguffins, obvious metaphors and deus ex machina plot resolutions. Games "Journalists" are just bitter old wannabe movie reviewers who hate actual video games and being handed a wannabe movie that is forced to be a game almost always wins GOTY these days because its the only games these jagoffs actually like.
Seriously, bar the Red Room save in RE2make, I expect this in every recent RE game with a stalker and always get disappointed. My biggest problem is the combat in the new GOW is some of the most tactile and heavy in recent memory barring maybe Nero in DMC V BUT even with the patch that added skipping cutscenes you forget how much of the game is walking through scripted scenes and what are essentially hallways for like 45 minutes a time. Absolutely butchers the replayability. The only part I actually remember in GOW 2018 was when Kratos got his blades back and went to helheim. Because it was the best part of the game.
For me it is this:The only part I actually remember in GOW 2018 was when Kratos got his blades back and went to helheim. Because it was the best part of the game.
I think it depends on the game and how they're handled tbh. I found Jack Baker in RE7 and Lisa Trevor in REmake legitimately terrifying, but the fear came more from not knowing when they'd turn up and once they did you could just run away from them.I'm going to say it, invincible stalker enemies are garbage and not even remotely fun. Waiting in an airing cupboard for a few minutes while the timer ticks down for the AI to despawn is not compelling gameplay.
In RE3make? I don't ever remember it happening, but I blitzed through that game to get the Platinum trophy then instantly dropped it.Nemesis could enter a few save rooms, though.
tbf I'd hate if they actually did it because stalker enemies make me extremely anxious because I'm a massive pussy, but it would be a cool way to fuck with the player's expectations and keep them guessing, especially after they've got comfy with the previous game's established rules. Horror should be all about subversion, after all.Seriously, bar the Red Room save in RE2make, I expect this in every recent RE game with a stalker and always get disappointed. Theres video proof of him walking into at least one save room, no idea if it was a bug or a higher difficulty setting though. That entire game feels like such a waste of resources. In RE3make? I'll need to look it up, although thinking about it I treated every playthrough after my first run as a speedrun to practice for Inferno so I was only using maybe 3 or 4 savepoints in the game, and they were all places Nemesis isn't active.Theres video proof of him walking into at least one save room, no idea if it was a bug or a higher difficulty setting though. Counterpoint: Pac Man gave you the means to fight back and sitting in a corner was a death sentence.I don't know why either, Alien Isolation was just pretty good. I don't think it would have been as well-received without the Alien paint. I mean if you wanted to be reductionist and unhelpful, those cat-and-mouse horror games are essentially just Pac Man.
Yeah man, true. But to be fair so did Alien Isolation. The flamethrower was the powerpill in the sense it would repel your pursuers and give you the upper hand for a bit until the timer ran down and they started chasing you again. Pac Man was even a horror game too with those spooky ghosts and black background.Counterpoint: Pac Man gave you the means to fight back and sitting in a corner was a death sentence.
Reminder that the extent of Rowling's 'endorsement of Walsh' was that she said it was funny how in 'What is a woman?', various intellectuals on the TRA side couldn't answer the question and sounded like idiots, she then talked about how she found Walsh's right wing views disgusting and that the man himself and the movement he represented was repugnant and she would never support them regardless of her opinions on troons. Some of Jim's sizzling hot takes, remember that if you find something that doesn't align with your narrative its just propaganda spread by those pesky fascists.

And then it became a poor mans Metroid Fusion.Alien Isolation was a fantastic 10 hour game, but then it decided to go on for another 10 hours.
The set up in 2018 (as revealed in the ending) is that your son (who Baldur was sent to find, verify his identity, and kidnap and possibly murder) is a key to defy a prophecy. With the Norse pantheon there's just the lack of personal stakes. Yeah Baldur was a dick head, but at the end of the day it's not the same level as making you kill your own wife and child. PLus there's also just the lack of monster variety, weapon diversity.
I think it's unfair to call Jim a joke wrestler... he's a joke human, not just wrestler.Has Jim mentioned his Wrestling career lately? Because on the podcast he accuses Scotty 2 Hotty, who he was booked to wrestle in February, of dropping the match because of transphobia. He doesn't go into much detail but apparently Scotty considered him to be a joke wrestler. He'll probably go into more detail on this weeks jimquisition.
