Oh no, they most definitely do not view Russia like that...they're a weak, friendly nation on their border useful as a source of raw materials but that's about as far as it goes. Hence why China has done absolutely nothing to support Russia in this war. although they have sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
China is just watching them implode from this disastrous war and taking notes should the PRC be interested in making moves in the region.
