Two possibilities.

1. Heather was able to extricate herself without nearly dying. Zach mentions her now because he’s belatedly realised that it’s obvious that he’s the idiot, so he’s trying to imply that it was dangerous even if you aren’t being a fucking idiot.

2. Heather did nearly drown, but Zach is so self-absorbed that he didn’t mention it.

Either is plausible.
Zach is such a useless lump that Heather probably did all the work saving him.

WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE, Zach. You didn't almost drown, you became one of the Ironborn now.

Jokes aside, they have a 4.5 score on FB.

Check the reviews and the pictures. What was Zach complaining about? Because many people on the pictures have no life vests on and they're perfectly fine, even CHILDREN. Zach, these are babies:

The water isn't even that deep!
Oh, but it had rained a little bit, so it was too muddy to see the bottom! Scary!

Seriously would have way more sympathy if there was even a current there, but every photo he showed is the stillest water you could imagine.

I'm a bit of a gun nut myself, but I must admit I have a problem this .
That is, arming suicide prone mentally ill people. Not particularly worried they'd shoot up the place

But ZJ is in Florida. Concealed carry with no permit, only open carry restricted. So all ZJ has to do is get some money together and head for the closest gun store. Pick out one he likes (probably a relatively inexpensive revolver) and show a valid Florida driver's licence ...

... uh oh. Wait a minute. :)

More nostalgia for his lost youth.
Remember Freethought Blogs and Atheism Plus? ZJ was one of them.

Zach's narcissism and grandiosity is accelerating.

I wonder what meds (prescribed or otherwise) are triggering this shift.

The total refusal to see his own behavior or thoughts as potentially unreasonable is alarming. We're starting to see the kind of thing in this man's head where when he snaps and kills his family, people will say oh yeah, I guess he had been weird with the snake obsession and constantly telling people he's worthy of special treatment just for being himself.

Zach has a little problem with this little thing called "evidence". What Genderspec is saying -- and what we know all along -- is that there is no evidence that transphobia is a motivation of the very few cases of trans murders.

"As Twitter winds down, I'm shifting all of my work to longer formats, primarily various reviews and dossiers for private working groups"

Well, that doesn't sound sinister or anything.

"My threads are ... kind of meandering and uncertain of where they're ultimately going, and it's always felt weird that Twitter even lends itself to that kind of behavior"

Twitter couldn't stop people like you from being spergs so they created threaded tweets to try and manage it. This actually protects other people from you because it doesn't deceive them into thinking you're tweeting new shit when it's just some paranoid autistic sperg about rivers trying to kill you or whatever. Twitter went farther and now allows people to mute specific threads to eliminate notifications completely.

Despite said "developments", he still cannot work because he does not feel safe.

Why do I keep tweeting when NOTHING ABOUT REALITY CHANGES!

Zach is triply ignorant here. al-Awlaki literally was a member of al-Qaeda, accused of even being part of operations planning, not just some random posting about how he thinks al-Qaeda is based for killing infidels something that is absolutely not criminal in the United States. The complaint from actual civil liberties people was not just that he was killed extrajudicially as an American citizen by the Obama Administration, it's that he was killed extrajudicially because the U.S. Government was aware they weren't able to try him so they put him on the kill list anyway. Lastly, al-Awlaki has become more influential among extremist Islam since his death because of the way he was killed and the fact that THE WHOLE CULTURE LOVES MARTYRS.

I want to pick on this one especially because of what I just posted about in the prior one and what Zach said himself there. Our progressive ACAB activist is complaining that the state hasn't punished someone criminally even as the people best in position to know are not finding anything criminal to punish. Zach doesn't care that the people actually in charge of finding out if something criminal was done and then deciding to charge it haven't decided this, actually no, he does care, he cares so much that he's angry that they're doing their job properly instead of just using the state to harass and abuse one of Zach's perceived enemies. He hates his entire country because due process is being upheld instead of the state crushing anyone Zach decides he doesn't like.

Evidence is a form of patriarchal hegemony.

What Zach's trying to imply is that we, the anti-progressives, are aware of how absurd are our arguments, but we make them anyway because we feel entitled to speak while they must be the reasonable and logical victims who need to engage in the discussion with facts and logic.

Of course, he doesn't realise it's us the ones who have to discuss with people who have no idea what's a woman and claim mayonnaise is a gender, and when we point how ridiculous these arguments are, all they do is scream RACIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST.

"I seriously can't believe how much I fucked around and found out with my ridiculous new years resolutions ... My other new years resolution was to lose weight; first of the year I immediately get a toothache that lasts a week and then I need *two* molars pulled."

Uh, what?

Also, this whole set of tweets doesn't make any sense. Why would a trans person make decisions without enough information they could come to regret? Especially kids?

Zach was victimized. It is everyone's else fault but his and he recognizes this.

"My being a 'survivor' instead of in a body bag is the random event that happened here ... It's random that I lived ... my stance toward this is how to prevent becoming a victim of anything like this ever again ... Being a 'survivor' just feels like I'm obligated to endure the harm that people demand to inflict on me"

I'm glad that Zach learned the meaning of this random event is that all of reality needs to conform to Zach's wishes at all times. It's a rare but powerful conclusion.

"Why aren't they all having the fucking flashbacks of almost killing a person?" Maybe because that person voluntarily put himself into jeoperdy?

"even once I got above water I couldn't see Heather and immediately thought she had been killed and that I was responsible for it by not being able to steer away from the tree in our path ... I don't know if a single person other than the two of us even vaguely remembered this as an event that happened ... no matter how many words I use, it will not be sufficient to capture even 0.1% of what happened ... I could use up every molecule of ink the universe, what happened is still so much larger than that"

lmao

"I spent years trying to pretend I could be some kind of functional extrovert who acts normal and is fine with everything. The truth is that I'm fine with almost nothing and there's so much I just don't want to do anymore if it were up to me ... I'm calling it on trying to act normal and keep it together ... I'm facing the fact that I'm just not okay with any of it anymore and I probably never was. And I can't spend my life just doing a bunch of shit that makes me uncomfortable and that I didn't ever care about ... I can't make myself like or enjoy things. At this point I don't even believe I should be expected to, or that I have any obligation to get over it"

We already know, buddy.

Some idiot: "I'm sorry. It's very relatable"

Perhaps it's the whiskey, but I've been laughing at this for about a minute. Zach is developing full blown agoraphobia! The river has become his nemesis, representing all evil and disorder in the world. He dares not step a foot outside of his home, lest he drown. Yet even inside, he is not safe from drowning in the sounds of his children chewing food and Heather doing the dishes.

I wonder if his new found rabies-like fear of water has caused him to take a break from showers and pumping his asshole with a nozzle.
