Community Quiverfull Movement Lolcows - Starring the Duggars

It also sucks for women who are childless not by choice whether they couldn't find a suitable husband or they are infertile among other reasons. A lot of them think that it is somehow their fault they are childless or people are like "Why don't you adopt?" without realizing how rigorous the approval process is as well as how expensive it is. Childless women in those communities are often forced to take care of their aging parents and younger siblings and often not treated like adults compared to married women. As for men, well, it reminds me of a quote Brigham Young said once in that unmarried men over the age of 25 are a menace to society and they are also infantilized and treated like lesser men for not having a wife.

The Bates’s oldest daughter gets treated this way. Poor gal is married but has some kind of fertility issues and they always seem so fucking condescending toward her.

Hell, she got her nursing license and was so proud of it and the rest of the family just offered a wishy-washy “that’s nice, congratulations” as if working hard and going into a profession that actively helps people is somehow less impressive than getting knocked up and shitting out 75 kids (which even methheads can do that).

Maybe it would in some ways be worth it if he had a good job. But then there are people like Jildo who shill for a chronically unemployed goblino who has never worked a real job in his life and eats all the food meant for her horde of child servants. Even men in some traditional cultures are expected to know how to cook. Like Cajuns.
Most fundies these days are like that. Many or most of the men are trying to be pastors or evangelists, or they end up doing landscaping or industrial work that they're not actually qualified to do. These guys always go to unaccredited Bible colleges that are the only places that will accept them because they're all homeschooled by uneducated, exhausted mothers. Thus there's next to no money unless you were already born rich or luck out publicity wise like the Duggars (who were living in a three bedroom 1 bathroom house donated by the church before TLC showed up.)

It's partly why so many of these women also shill for diet pyramid schemes. The only food they can actually afford is carb filled garbage. They are ALSO expected to attend all the church potlucks and not only bring their own tater tot and cream of mushroom casserole, but also try some of everyone else's tater tot and cream of mushroom casserole or they're rude. Spending extra money on actually nutritious food is wasteful and high maintenance and taking any time to exercise is selfish and vain and independent. They cannot work outside the home, of course, as well. But also they better stay slim and sexy for their husbands while popping out 13 kids or those husbands will cheat or molest their kids and it will be THEIR FAULT for not staying desirable (also not being desirable is also a sign of disobedience) Thus: Plexus and all the other Christian themed diet bullshit. Allegedly make money AND allegedly stay skinny so you don't force your husband to rape people!

They’re not, that’s the problem. It’s why all of Jill’s kids look like concentration camp victims and the Bates’ kids never saw doctors.
Most of these massive families are, and they pretty much aren't paying any federal income taxes due to deductions. The Sister Wives family of 5 adults and 18 kids, for example, was on government assistance and almost every wife filled for bankruptcy one or two times.

They’re not Quiverfull, though. They’re one of the many splinters of Mormonism.

What are the massive tax breaks and child credits if not the dole? You can always tell when Jill's gotten another one, there's a new influx of cheap tatty word art and ugly useless dollar store pillows in her shit-particle infested toilet recording studio.

E: Also the only reason the poor starving Rodlet's teeth aren't rotting out of their heads, medicaid dentists. I honestly wish she'd do/take/use more benefits and feed her fucking kids.

I think it just goes to show how little government assistance the USA actually gives, if the kids are still starving and underdeveloped even when they get handouts
No, that's purposeful on the part of JillPM and Shrek. It's been exposed by a former babysitter and school mates of (I want to say Tim, one of the poor slackjawed, recessed chin boys that will never be a functional human) when he almost escaped their clutches at a fundie college that they withhold food as a means of control. Jill could have enough food in her fridge and pantry to stock an entire all you can eat buffet by the airport and she still wouldn't feed her kids. The kid gained something like 20lbs in one semester and finally looked like an average 19 year old young man despite being sent off with literally no money, just from what he was fed by other kids that pitied him. They posted a picture from taco bell and each kid got a single taco (some of the teens had 2) and Shrek had a pile of 9+ food items in front of him. It's one of the mechanisms of control in their death cult and it's sad as fuck to watch. Jill and Karissa Collins are truly fucking evil, Bethany Baird is just a disgusting, neglectful slob... luckily her husband is not only the breadwinner but also the major childcare person.

E: Although I do agree, much more assistance needed, especially for kids that didn't ask to be born to a sociopathic narcisscist.

Yea I misspoke; it's not just QFs but any sort of natalist trad community. They usually have a workaround rationalization for it like the government funds should go to Godly families.

I know for my own family growing up, pride was considered absolutely sinful in the face of your children starving.

Accepting help with gratitude and humility is an important trait for children to learn and should serve as a springboard to serve others.

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has more details on that quiverfull narcmom who got arrested for drunk driving a while back. Wasn't that one of the families with a TLC show?

Also, have there been any updates from any of the Duggars? Curious how the mood is at Casa de Duggar going into the second holiday season without their golden nonce around.

I guess a basic rundown+any particularly notable caps/clips/etc.
The Plaths are a family of nine kids (eight living): Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Jacob, and three little girls that blur together for me. Jacob died at three when Kim accidentally ran him over with a tractor. They lived on a farm in Georgia and Kim was extremely high-control. They have/had a TLC show, Welcome to Plathville, but it downplayed the fundie aspects in favour of family drama. Hosanna is married to Timothy Noble, and she's a regular fundie who has nothing to do with any of this.

They have a lot of family drama. Ethan is married and his wife doesn't get on with Kim, so the families are estranged. Hosanna seems to avoid the whole show. Moriah and Micah both moved out and rebelled. Barry and Kim recently divorced.

Here they are in better times:

Damn, that clip is some stepford shit. Glad at least some of the kids have escaped.

Are they the ones whose son escaped and became an underwear model?

Yes, that was Micah. They’re good-looking kids, but the oldest are so sheltered they can sound a bit slow. Especially Ethan.

This is Micah Plath on TLC.

Here's Micah Plath since escaping the family compound. Welcome to Plathville, indeed.
