My bet is that its not even a real part of the game and just made to go on the Steam page which would explain why its looks so odd. Also in another gif on the steam page they do have PS controls shown.

Been over a year since an update to the OP:
State of GVH:
The game has basically been in limbo for the last 2 years. It is suspected that the drama surrounding Kate Gray got most of the game scrapped, Snoot Game may also be a contributing factor.

After more than a year of silence an update has been made to their steam page, a couple NEW IMAGES!!! You read that right, a Steam page. Theyve dropped the console exclusivity
The Developers:
Ever since Snoot Game, the developers have been in coping and seething mode. They've cracked down on any people making fun of the game on their various social media platforms but none can compare to their discord. Their discord has the strictest vetting for new members and you can get banned at the drop of a hat for being a "bad fit" Lol After 2 years they made an update to their steam page where they share a couple more social media accounts showing more of their Yanderedev type updates:
Hard to say when they will release the game, in 2021 they said they would be releasing in 2022 but still no signs of it releasing any time soon:
Conclusion:
The Developers have wasted any momentum the game mightve had. They threw away 2 years (game started development in 2018 ) of work because their head writer got canceled and decided to take 2 more years to develop something that may not even be noticeably different from the original product.
Imagine being Sony, you let some scalie gender weirdos into your big PS5 reveal, they drop this turd into your presentation, market it as one of the launch titles for their overpriced plastic game box and not only do they not deliver, they don't even stick to being a console exclusive.

The fact that it's (going to be) on Steam is some delicious irony. A team that can't handle criticism moved their game from a system with no games and barely any fans for it, to a platform that has WAY more people that are also not afraid of being critical.
If they did indeed wait for the contract to expire then they are fucking retarded. Between this, the constant delays, and Snoot Game, they've purposefully driven themselves in a corner to where all eyes are on them. If they quit and cancel the game, they become a lughing stock and another victory for Snoot Game. If they release it, then they better take a vacation from their computers because their game is going to be ripped apart like fucking crazy. Any and all autists are going to comb through this pile of shit with a fine-tooth comb to see what two (possibly 3) years of work resulted in.

I think Groomercore is a pretty good title, saw it once when someone wanted to describe all those indie games like Ooblets with pastel colors, character models/sprites that look like vaguely human shaped blobs, try to look childish and describe themselves as "wholesome". Doesn't fit GVH 100% but i think it's close enough.
