Disney's newest film "Pillow Biter World" flopped at the box office. Seeing how the main character is gay and got the film banned in more than 20 countries, the movie only made 3.4 million on its Opening Weekend. Guess the same deal happened with Lightyear. But this is Disney we are talking about. So this loss means nothing. Especially when Black Panther: Wa Waz Kangz n sheit fo'evea made tons of money.

Not shock Strange World is going to flop, art style is very discount Asterix which is a style not sure has much appeal outside the EU. Also is a genre that doesn't do well at the box office in terms of family animated movies, mean Atlantis: The Lost Empire is the biggest hit of those type of movies and that still flopped at the cinema.

Also got to wonder if Disney+ has killed the box office for Disney's own animated movies with families just waiting til it hits that, mean feel like Strange World will be dropped on Disney+ on christmas much like Encanto. However worth nothing while Encanto was a big hit on Disney+, it seem Lightyear was not or least not anywhere close to Encanto's numbers.

The art style isn't the biggest problem. It's the lgbtxyz & minority shit. Even the fucking dog is crippled ffs. Normal parents don't want their children to watch gay crap and children aren't interested in it. They want fun adventures - not queer garbage.

Some madlad at originaltrilogy.com is doing a 35mm film scan of The Brave Little Toaster. The folks at Kineko Video are planned to help out with restoration. Even the original film's director Jerry Rees is helping out by giving guidance, as well Brian McEntee. He helped with both the film's writing, color timing and art direction. Brian himself was known for being an art director on Beauty and the Beast and Cats Don't Dance and was a production designer for said film, as well as the original Ice Age.

It make me happy to see a community go out of there way to find and remaster film reels of both movies, shows and even trailers, especially if it's something you haven't seen since you were a kid. I had some nostalga with this movie and I'm happy it's finally getting the treatment it deserves.

Now do the same with Song of the South.

Apparently, the film flopped.

Some Fridge Horror kicked in. Do you remember people feeling Miserable over Treasure Planet and Atlantis: the Lost Empire also being flops? According to them, those films are artistic masterpieces, but Disney decided to just ignore them and therefore not make those types o films anymore. They seem to be returning to form with Strange Planet, but Disney then decided to emphasise the BGLT+ angle. Given the increasing amount of people already boycotting Disney over its pro-BGLT+ content, I feel that film flopping is mainly due to th emphasis on quee romance.

The Fridge Horror is that Disney, instead of blaming the quee romance, would blame the flop on Strange Planet following the lead of Treasure Planet and Atlantis: the Lost Empire the never making those types o films ever again. I feel that Disney should have, at least, pushed the adventurous exploration angle and keep the quee romance hidden until the film plays.

Then again, the same thing happened with Princess and the Frog, though social justice was more muted a tha time, th emphasis being on hand-drawn animation in the film, instead...

>"Pillow Biter World"
That killed me.

My biggest problem with LGBT stuff is why does it always have to be ugly as fuck?

I get that the alphabet people are pretty ugly irl but in the realm of fantasy can't you at least make them pretty and cute?

Where's lesbians that look like Ariel and Belle? Gaymos that look like Eric?
I garentee people would get more on board with that

Also it seems like if a character is gay in cartoon land they can't be white either. It's weird. They have to be ambiguously raced or straight up black-- the minorities that will be the least likely to give you money for gay shit.
Also they HAVE to make the non-white characters ugly too, for whatever reason.

Go back to Taina and Naveen-- even the evil dude has SOME appeal to the eye. These new designs are just blobs with bigger blobs for noses

So fugly.

no idea what the point of that argument is, because what came after didn't fare much better. brother bear? home on the range? meet the robinsons (fuck, I completely forgot the movie even existed)?
almost like disney made unpopular movies and was mostly carried by pixar till tangled. same way lightyear and strange planet are movies no one gives a shit about, no matter how queer they are or not. just like no one gave a shit about treasure planet or atlantis, when people wanted stuff like shrek and lighthearted entertainment, not serious themes in their kid's animation. but that doesn't make a movie bad, just being published at the wrong time (which applies to a lot of "classics" btw, look at the box office performance of blade runner for example).

also hardly anyone gave a shit about princess and the frog's political correctness, 2009 wasn't [current year], and besides that wasn't a bomb. it made almost triple it's budget at the box office. the reason they canned 2d was because the movie didn't make enough money. so it's basically disney being retarded and greedy, thinking people didn't want handdrawn animation anymore (anime says hello).

So fugly.
that applies to everyone, not just the gays. attractive characters are an unrealistic objectification and thus offensive. the character didn't ask to serve as the artists fap material (legit quote).

Who? Kids? Parents? Lgbtxyz crap just isn't interesting for the majority of these people. No matter how it looks. Disney can make as many gay kids movies as they want - every single on of them will bomb.

It's because "BODY ACCEPTANCE" because in addition to trying to be inclusive to all sexual orientations, they're trying to fight the 'body idealism' you'd find at shit like Victoria's Secret.

Just more of the same injection of trying to force society to view their unattractive forms as 'normal'.

Which makes it all the more ironic they're going back to Princess and the Frog as a retheme of Splash Mountain purely to follow up on trying to make the ride more woke and inclusive.

Thats really sad. I havent been to Disneyland in years but I loved Splash Moutain as a kid. That ride and Space Mountain were my favorite rides.

I’m just saying they’ll get a better response (even if the current response is terrible) if they want to even TRY the gay route. Disney was founded on pretty/cute characters. If they have to have a faggot just make them cute ffs

tbf Splash Mountain has been falling apart for years and would have lost all of its Song Of The South theming soon enough anyway due to neglect, WDW Magic Kingdom version at least
