Warhammer 40k

Jesus the new Arch video was just annoying. It starts incredibly cringy by advertising Manscape as a fucking Christmas gift of all things. Out of all the advertisements on Youtube, Manscape is just the most humiliating thing in my opinion (at least until I heard about the Balldo). Afterwards Arch starts talking he wanted to do a big series about the Sabbat World Crusade and can't because GW censorship, which is just so whiny. The censorship debacle happened a year ago and nothing came out of it, the coast is clear and it's just him justifying to himself. He mentions he will do a different big project but he's been mentioning those for the last year with nothing coming out of it.

While the video afterwards was okay, his main channel is pretty dead, no LPs or reviews, and his second channel is just discount Quarter pounder.
What would the Primarchs theme songs be?

He channel has been kinda dead for a while now. He use to do more content on it but it kinda feels like he lost a bit of love for warhammer a few years back and is now just going through the motions and putting out his weekly video. Also he got a lot of flak for having non-warhammer content on his main channel so having a second (although isn't this his second second-channel?) made sense.

His second channel though seems to be more where his interest is and even that seems to be mostly low effort livestream stuff.

His LPs were decent, especially when he started sperging on history. Ironically now it is the best time to be a 40K fan gaming-wise. You could at least justify the channel being dead if it looked like he started having a life outside Youtube, but it doesn't seem that way.

Hes running out of ammo and just wants to cruise on making easy reactionary videos. He wanted to make an "exodus" to Battletech but had that plan squandered over the drama regarding the firing of a major writer to battletech due to his politics. I went through the video comments on so much fucking rage regarding how they are losing the war and trying to rally people to fight back becasue "they arent GW we can take battletech back"

The 40k bubble on youtube is overflowing and we are bound to get some old guard dropping who couldnt compete.

Oh yeah, I remember all the people talking about how "based" Battletech was and how everyone should emigrate to that fandom getting really silent suddenly. I think the 40k bubble already popped with the censorship fiasco and Alfabusa quitting, the problem is that there is nothing to fill the void.

It still grinds my gears that Alf and his posse managed to essentially scam their patreon subscribes by selling them a BS story, an now they don't even have to admit to it if they get called out.

LMAO, "migrating" my ass. Like Battletech is going to replace 40k for some of us, the hell were they smoking ?

When any kind of rot spread too much through your social circles/fandom/player-group or your publisher/seller you GTFO, especially when suddenly YOU become the problem(for good or bad reasons). You stop buying from them, you find or creat a new insular community related to the game-that-was in order to play and socialise like before or you create something new from the start(good luck on that).

Seeing all the political/cultural war antics and corpos's bullshit around 40K makes me more and more tired. It makes me glad that Fantasy is more or less untouched by this general rot... For now *cough* WFRP 4th edition *cough*

Ya know, I'll take 4th edition, instead of the huge ass mess that was the 3rd edition with it's weird ass cards and special dice.

I generaly agree but both are a mess for different reasons, that's why I used the 2nd edition instead with a few new addition from the 4th(New spells and the Dexterity stat) and some artworks/illustrations of the 3rd. Also, for any fellow froggy reading this, use the english version of the 4th as the french translation is mediocre and bad.

Also for anyone not liking forced/fake diversity, try to find yourself a WFRP 4th edition and see the career illustrations, it ranges from good to hillariously bad.

Most of the necron models are the newer snap together kits. Some of the older ones like immortals/deathmarks are a pain in the ass.
I'm of mixed opinions on the snapfit kits. They look fantastic (great poses and detail) and go together easily, but in many (most?) cases you're locked into a very specific loadout.

For all his flaws (fucking Erda) I'm glad Abnett is doing the final 2 Siege of Terra Books over ADB. I think a few successes have gotten to the dude's head and he's just huffing his shit at this point.
I dunno Erda is pretty fucking unforgivable. I'll always be a Graham McNeil guy

I'll still take that over trying to glue on shoulder sockets at the same time as the hands, gun, and gun attachment. I have to pinch the model from multiple different angles and hope it doesn't come apart when I rip my glued on fingers off. I really didn't enjoy building my immortals.

Fair. I still have flashbacks to gluing up the Burna Boyz from the Lootas kits (which was exactly that sort of nonsense) all so I could throw 20 of them in a Battlewagon to light everything on fire as a joke play (which was almost as fun as dropping in a Bossbunka full of Tankbustas right on top of a midfield objective in turn 2 for pure Ork stupidity).

The lack of posing is what I dislike most of all since it makes my guys harder to stand out from others with the same kit.

I did find the kit somewhat annoying but it was mostly how parts were attached to the sprue. I often found myself with gaps on the the torso and shoulders I needed to fill because of it.

I have been growing fond of Chris Wraight im not a staunch black library fan but I wont shit on it 24/7 like a lot of guys have been doing recently in this rather dumb Black Library is ruining 40k posts I been seeing around.

Just finished Assassinorum: Kingmaker because I was wondering what Robert Rath would do for a second full 40k book, it wasn't as good as the Infinite and the Divine but it was still mostly decent.
Plot was basically a vindicare, a callidus, and a vanus have to infiltrate a knight world that's refusing to take part in the Indomitus Crusade, kill the reigning monarch, and replace him with one that's more pro Imperium. There is a twist in the last half involving some chaos knights which turns it into less of a assassin book more knight on knight mech fights. but they did manage to balance the two parts fairly well, there was a part that kind of gave me Infinite and Divine flashbacks where after killing the king there's a brief montage of a council of nobles nominating a new candidate and trio immediately killing said nominations until they get the one they want which did remind me of when Trazyn and Orikan back and forth of steal the others shit, but unfortunately that part was kind of short.

There where two things that kinda rubbed me the wrong way:
-First was that the callidus and vanus (both female) don't trust the vindicare leading them (male) to come up with a plan more complicated then taking a pot shot 2 miles away at first and try to manipulate him into doing what they want so I was expecting the book to be mainly "YES WYMYN SLAY". But this actually gets dealt with a few chapters after its introduced with the vindicare quickly realizing what their doing, forces them into a corner to admit that they're try to manipulate him, and gets them to knock it off and actually work together.
-Second issue is probably more damning especially if I was more familiar with knight lore but the callidus assassin is able to somewhat pilot a Armigers Knight by disguising herself as the pilot and convincing the spirts/ghost inside it that's she's totally the real pilot and not a skinswalker using polymorphine.

The first part I think it's a subversion and quite simply didn't need to be there. The second part I think Vanus supplied the Callidus with the shit she needs to get the machine spirits not to go crazy on her.
