𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

No, they aren't. As @AnOminous has stated; Apple may well be subject to antitrust rulings if they try to do this, which they would be unlikely to win.
They might win. So far they have against Epic (mostly). The fact that millions of Applefags are also terminally addicted to Twitter might mean they'd lose money for other reasons though.

Musk is free to turn Twitter into an alt-right paradise, Apple is just as free to drop it from their store.
He can bitch and whine about it all he likes too. Allegedly he’s also been phoning up the CEOs of major advertisers who’ve backed away from the shitshow to berate them and try to bully them into coming back.
Let me tell you about a little something called the Sherman Anti-Trust Act. Apple and Alphabet (Google) have already got smacked down in court in the US and EU over their app store nonsense. Do Tim Cook and whichever streetshitter is currently in charge of Alphabet really want to deal with a lolsuit from the richest man in the world who is also probably the biggest celebrity in the world? Elon Musk isn't Epic. That is a dispute over payment processes between Apple and Epic. Epic wanted to do payment processing in a way that would reduce Apple's cut. Apple said no we get the cut we want for providing service or you don't get to use our service. Banning Twitter over political enmity is a different kettle of fish.

You think so? I will admit that I havent really been following the Apple vs. Epic suit, I'd assumed that Epic were holding their own in it. I'll try and do some more research.

I'm betraying my lack of legal expertise; but I might have thought Musk would have had rather an easier time at it. Twitter and Apple technically overlap in their fields (Communications concerns), and Twitter being foremost a communications platform might afford them somewhat more favourable treatment... Though upon thinking about it I've realised I'm assuming the system isnt horrendously corrupt.

You bring up a good point vis-a-vis applefags being terminally online retards, though. Even if Apple "win", I shouldnt think that this would be beneficial for Apple in the medium term, at least in terms of public opinion. I'm probably overestimating the power of Niggercattle to see past their bread and circuses, however.

Interesting theory in the comments 🤔🤔🤔

Usually these woke companies make critical mistakes when virtue signaling. Last time I used MacOS was in the Sierra period and their fold out drawer had a twitter module built directly into it. I would bet that they'll remove the Twitter app but fuck up and forget that module and be in the awkward position legally where one hand is ok with Twitter and the other is not.

Exactly this. A lot of people, let’s call them “the masses,” got very confused about 230, publishers rights, and private companies over the past ten years, (especially the last 6) particularly on twitter. Idiots fighting for their personal political beliefs trotted out the, “it’s a private company,” excuse any time opposition would question the censorship on twitter of certain political groups. Even in regards to mundane shit. Anyway, the lazy excuses have mixed up “the masses” on exactly what is 230 exempt and what isn’t, and what is ok and isn’t in the name of companies using these publishers rights, while in the same breath claiming, “oh, private companies blah blah blah,” whenever they shut down one side over the other. Antitrust suit could be filed, it’d take forever, 230 is abused and written weird, (kinda sucks but protects.) Bringing politics in to something so obvious is horrendous, and has been used on Twitter for a decade, easily, to gain political control by one side, this is why many large share holders of various companies are shitting themselves as they don't get to dictate their views with no objection, now opposed voices can object with less censorship from twitter. To pull ad’s for that makes it clear what kind of abuse Apple etc, is guilty of. Good idea to sue as antitrust if talking it through doesn’t work. Too many of “the masses” got used to this political chicanery (in the US, no less) on twitter in particular. “Private company blah blah,” and they’ve been hypocrites of the law how it was meant to protect freedom of speech for publishers of all views, this whole time.

Musk is also free to file some Lolsuits because he has the money and why the fuck not.

I really hope this leads to an antitrust suite that forces apple to allow sideloading apps. The fact that Microsoft was threatened with antitrust back in the day just for preloading internet explorer should be a sign that the completely closed ecosystem is bullshit. If you buy a device you should have the right to install whatever the fuck you want on it.

The EU has some legislation on deck that would do that.

Unfortunately the internet and the courts are a lot different now from when Billy got his dick slapped by the government for that.

He managed to outlast the DoJ's change in opinion when Bush got elected and was more willing to cut a deal to settle the remaining ongoing litigation. Musk as a private party wouldn't have that specific issue and seems to have a reckless disregard for the value of money.

Apple would have to prove there is a large change in Twitter's behavior after the Musk take over...
No, they don't. They can remove an app for any reason at anytime and Epic's lawsuit over allowing alternative payment platforms is still in the courts last I checked. That's the best they can do, they already proved in court Apple isn't a monopoly and can charge it's 30% fee for it's walled garden approach to apps. Elon can add fuel to this fire, but I am not hopeful. Google Play store will be right behind it I'm sure. Elon can't get away with pushing side-loading twitter as the amount of normies who will download a fake apk virus (and we know Twitter APKs will be faked to oblivion) and scream at Elon for their own incompetence is too high.

I am too blackpilled to see a way forward against them, but I'd love to be wrong.
