Because it's funny? There's only one outcome that could possibly end well for OKKO. Admit that Snoot Game was a good parody and ignore it. However you and I both know those oversized egos on the devs will never allow that to actually occur.

To be fair, I don't think Snoot Game ever actually has the characters at a non 3/4ths angle shot. We never get to see how they would look looking right down the snoot, which is a hard angle to get looking good.

The art direction seems to follow the principle of drawing the human head and then add aninal features, which is a fucking sin.
Most animals have round heads with the addition of a snoot/muzzle/beak, while the human head is oval, that's enough by itself to make the character design look like scrapped concept art from the Cats movie, but as there is also a lack of details and outline (most probably because they could be 3d models and not actual 2d art) everything look flatter and, in case of characters with lots of facial features such as rosa, the overall appearance is even worse

At this rate, I'm thinking the developers are waiting for an asteroid to hit Earth again, so they don't have to release this dumpster fire.
Somehow I have the feeling all those mechanics showcased in the trailer are not actually implemented in the game yet, this is just what they call a "vertical slice" in the biz. I wonder how long Sony is going to put up with their bullshit, if they even remember the existence of this game.

As someone who managed to lay low in the GBVH Discord on an alt, yes there are. It's not a whole lot and it's a bunch of ass kissing suck ups but there are "fans" of this game.
