I just finished reading a book yesterday that was a thriller/police procedural spoof (Once Upon a Crime by Fergus Craig) and the protagonist was like an English Patrick Tomlinson self-insert.

Self-described tough guy, seduces all the women in the most ridiculous ways, cheated on by his wife, such a neglectful father you don’t discover he has a daughter until you’re about halfway through the book, thinks his mediocre car is the bollocks, believes himself to be truly intellectual. It just goes on.

Technically, someone else said that it was a thing and Elon Musk's reply could be read as saying either 'We're going to investigate that,' or, 'Yes, we found that was happening.' It's incredibly plausible, but that's not the same thing as true.

Though if it is true, it would show once again, some more, how insignificant Pat is. Because the people who would have done such a thing are who he aspires to be, the professional blowhard on Twitter types. But none of them - none of the SFWA, none of the anti-Trumpers, none of the thousands upon thousands of other terminally online keyboard warriors - were willing to share their blue check hook-up with him.

I think it's brave for a writer to say words don't mean anything and that letting people speak is somehow actually "moderation" and especially because this means not only is Patirck a moderator on Twitter it means rather than the typical janny duty of doing it for free, he literally pays others to let him be a janny. (And doesn't even get to ban people for it.)

I also like when he says "Musk, a noted idiot" is learning why Twitter has moderators when Musk has never said Twitter will not have moderators, just different rules for the moderators under his ownership.
