that's the same with everything. million of people use knives just fine, then someone gets shiv'd and the answer is going full united kingdom. the only thing you really can do is try to reign in/control some of the possible abuse, trying to prevent it completely is a fool's errant.Neuralink is one of those things that is good until its bad. if it helps cripples move and shit that's awesome. if it helps people otherwise totally incapacitated have some quality of life that's great. it will almost surely go too far and musks hubris will finally be revealed as malice maybe. i can't say but yeah. crazy shit.
for the same reason some tech will never see the light of day (among one reason why electric cars will always be shit): imagine anyone driving around with a mini-bomb that brings the power and efficiency of fossil fuel, but react like the combination of a pinto in a simpsons cartoon - and that's before anyone goes out of his way to weaponize it.
because you aren't a vegetable. you can probably include anyone going blind or deaf who wasn't since birth.I don't trust it. If I had a choice between having a Neuralink installed or being a vegetable, I'd take being a vegetable.
anyone with common sense could tell you that, so that goes way back. moderation is key to everything, if you circumvent the failsafes (not getting hard or getting raw), and then constantly trigger the biochemical reaction of an orgasm, it inevitably will lead to desensitivity and imbalances. just like a drug where junkies chase higher highs, which means higher dosages, till they end up with a golden shot.Reminds me of the 80's movie "Brainstorm" with Christopher Walken. There's a new technology where you can experience anything someone has recorded to a tape. A researcher makes a loop out of a sex scene and plays it over and over until he loses his mind.
you could also look at it from a darwin perspective if you want.
