NeoGAF & ResetERA - The Hilarious N̶e̶v̶e̶r̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ Splintering "Gaming" Forum Circus

The thing I noticed is it's mostly the mods that are encouraging it. I mean, look at the hostility in this post. (Red name = mod)

That has been a pretty big open secret since a while. Not even Evilore can control what happens with his own mods cliques as it seems every one has a pet issue to latch and complain about.

The curious thing about the #BlockLivesMatter thread was that a mod actually tried to bring the "guys, bitching about it is just going to promote the game" while most users ignored him and went for normal users with the same argument (not helping is that is a pet topic to Bishoptl, the admin and, ironically, the one that closed the thread). To me is clear many mods also walk on eggshells to an extent.

What kind of marriage do you have where your afraid of your wife finding out you jerk it to porn?
unless the dude is fapping to cp or bestiality or some shit i doubt she cares.
Some girls (and probably guys too) are that special brand of crazy: "You're masturbating? Am I not good enough for you?! YOU DONT LOVE ME ANYMORE!!1!"

A gaffot just got a new job at the Armed Forces, and they told him to gain weight, but apparently he literally thought it's just him have to eat fucking more and ask other Gaffots for advice even though it's most likely related to muscles.

Also, enjoy some Gaffots crying about no transgender bathrooms in Missouri:

That mod, Bishoptl is a well known asshole. He worked on the "masterpiece" Turok 2008 as designer back in the day. When people was making fun of it on the fourms, he got so damn butthurt that he started to ban people over it. He also let his marriage go to waste over that game. He also don't pay childsupport.

Obsession != Dedication. Dude sounds like an absolute twat, and probably shouldn't be leading anything.

Every single mod is obsessed with something. Right now Kagari and Aenea are the gatekeepers in JRPGs (to the point to bump threads just to shit talk the FEXSMT idol game or harass localizers that don't drink the kool aid), Besada is anything social justice, Nirolak and Opiate, before the be unmoded, liked to whitewash mobile games, Bishoptl promoted his kickstarter for a dinosaur game in the most transparent way possible.

in this threas: I cannot grasp the difference between Buzzwords and bussiness lingo, please be ashamed of yourselves.

Yeah I'm not talking about your everyday branding and exposure.

And the most hilarious part....

Its not me who's saying it, its the producers, publishers and marketing teams of your biggest western conglomerates who are saying it.

I just agree with them when they say their marketing owns your generation:

After all, I am not the one who suggested the US government uses brainwashing tactics, utilized in cod marketing to solve public outrage over a police state he suggested as the solution to the coming 'internal invasion' in a government think tank.

The former head of AAAAAAAA gamings number one shooty bang bang did.

The Call of Duty author said he anticipated objections. “The public won’t like it, they’ll think it’s a police state,” he said. But, he went on, “All of these are solvable problems.” Anthony’s address, which was punctuated by videos depicting such future threats as a U.S. drone hacked by Iran and a hotel massacre in Las Vegas, included repeated exhortations to policymakers to learn from the examples of corporations and creative artists in selling potentially unpopular ideas. “When we have a new product that has elements that we’re not sure how people will respond to, what do we do as a corporation?” he asked. “We market it, and we market it as much as we can—so that whether people like it or not, we do all the things we can to essentially brainwash people into liking it before it actually comes out.”

By and 'large' the carefully cultivated audience that actually identifies themselves as the once laughable marketing term 'gamer' swallows the marketing wholesale, they live for it, and they gather and attack en mass anything they see goes against the marketing. Be it reviews that are deemed too low, or 'sjw's', or famous directors of beloved games who dare to say shits not heading down a very good path and maybe things should change.

Anyone who doesn't gargle the marketing splooge is rapidly sealoined.

Just look at this thread.

You want to know why the industry at large hasn't said jack shit about gamergate? Because gamergate is the direct result of this kind of marketing. Its exactly the behavior they want, minus the pesky bad publicity, but can't make an omelet.... The difference between a 'gamer' and a 'gator' is miniscule.

The k.Dot @ the Grammys thread had to be locked because

I guess NeoGaf is starting to reap what they've sowed!

I think is a mix match. The lack of real new posters has made more obvious how clique driven the site has become. Gaming and Offtopic hate each other, SJWs hate anime games and DOA, BCT think they own the place even if they form their own cliques; the usual Console war stuff has become just another noice.

Is funny to read the DOA threads where people are aware in how many SJW posters go there just to troll and derail but cannot call out the moderation team ("send a PM, we are trustworthy").

Censorship is okay when they piss people I don't like:

My initial reaction to the changes skewed slightly negative, but seeing people lose their shit over something so inconsequential has turned that opinion around.

What a hero.

Also, It sucks that my principles mean nothing when I care mostly about how I look in my social circle and how they clash with their personal prejuices

I feel like the worst thing about this is I legitimately think these quest ending changes are bad and it really sucks being ideologically close to people who make posts like this.

How the fuck you are able to function in the real world?

Neogaf's SJW triggered because the "why you are offended" culture (because they want to protect virtual people from Nathan Drake):

He's clearly talking about ND and the Uncharted franchise.

It's mostly a stop and pop shooter with auto platforming. Nothing wrong with that inherently. It did it well with Uncharted 2.

But if we want lower kill counts, they gameplay will need to change dramatically.

"If we want lower kill counts"

Uh wat?

The 'you're offended' Crowd is starting to be more prolific, annoyingly hysterical and overall more irrationally angry then the supposed 'social justice Warriors' that they can't seem to stop screaming about. I think they've jumped the shark.

The guy that enters in any single "diversity" thread to complain about people being casually racist. or getting offended in the SAME thread:

You're just looking to argue. I don't have the energy for this today. I'm going to let it go.

I don't have the patience for someone who want's to tell me that I'm 'confused' instead of just respecting my take on the matter.

But hey, people are easily offended by being critical while you can be offended by not expecting that people will not validate your point becuase your political ideology.

Nono, if you're critical of something people like it has to be because you're "offended" and you're just too sensitive

The guy that enters to JRPGs threads to complain about how much they suck because "idols" and stuff. And how South Park is so no funny but lets watch Rick & Morty.

Pretty much is SJW Gaf as it worst as is using a tired meme (Nathan Drake kills a lot of people. Get it?) to form a vehicule to ideologies or how transparent SJW is in dogpiling in threads when called out as every single fucking "progressive" member needs to intervene, including the user Lime, famous because saying "Summers is a house Nigger" :

SJW GAF IS SJW:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1204798

Do you ever feel guilty about enjoying a game that doesn't have a lot of diversity?

Final Fantasy XV is coming out soon, and I could not be more hyped for it. It's one of the few games me and my friends, who generally have very different tastes, are all excited to try out together. This is because we love the bro roadtrip tone of the game. It reminds us of how we sometimes just take time off to go on dumb roadtrips with each other, have some fun and bro out. So when we saw what the game was about we basically all went "Great!" and all got pretty hyped about it.

That said, in spite of how much the game interests me, I can see why the game definitely wouldn't appeal to others, especially since Final Fantasy was a generally inclusive series to start with. So...well, I genuinely feel bad about people who feel left out by the game. I can see why it would bug them that the game went with a cast and setting that makes them feel like the game isn't for them.

Yet when people say things like "The game should have X" I kind of feel guilty because I can't really join the chorus saying that. I mean, a part of me would be glad for cast changes in FFXV because I know how much the lack of female characters in the party bothers people. At the same time, for purely selfish reasons, I would probably enjoy the game less. One thing me and my friends genuinely enjoy about road trips is that we kind of let our guards down and let down on the "grrr guys don't talk about feelings to other guys" stereotype. It's a fun experience, and I'm kind of hoping the game goes for that bromance feeling of a road trip that we had. It's not so much that my friends and I think female characters would change the dynamic and more that we like seeing male characters openly express affection for each other. It's nice, and combined with the road trip feeling, it's just something we kind of can relate to, you know? So FFXV is definitely something we are all looking forward to.

Buuuuut end of the day, I still feel a tad guilty about enjoying the game as is because I can tell a lot of people feel excluded by it. It's like "Maaaan, this appeals to me, but I wish it appealed to other people too." Like, my girlfriend is fine with the game because she finds the ridiculous kpop star look fucking hilarious, but at the same time I also have other friends who are let down by the cast.

Hell, end of the day, if somehow the decision to magically make the game more inclusive or not came to me...I'd probably make the game more inclusive. It would lost out on the themes I'm looking forward to, but I'd feel like a bit of a dick being selfish about that considering how there are so many games that appeal to my tastes, even if not as much as FFXV's bro road trip, since the aren't a lot of games that are too inclusive. Like a sort of "Yeah, I'd enjoy the game less, but I'd probably support a change since it would be fair" kind of feeling.

I guess what I meant to create the thread for is to ask--anybody else have moments where they enjoy a game as is for personal reasons but feel a sort of guilt in that because they want others to enjoy being represented as well? I was wondering if that was a me thing or if more people felt that way.
