While I'm not the biggest NightMind fan, the ARG he's covering here looks really well made. Yes, it's full of cliche. Yes, it's the usual 'uh-oh, haunted/cursed game that's connected to your brain scary' arc but someone really put work into it and it shows and I like that a lot.

Okay I'm not a fan of video game ARGs because they're a dime a dozen nowadays but I'm totally fine with this one. Has a lot of love put into it and seems to acknowledge that it's got some cliches (and the human kid player character looks like Ness so that gets brownie points from me).

I couldn't help but roll my eyes when NM complained about the themes of Christianity being overused though. I've seen plenty of ARGs parade the: "Christianity is bad, m'kay?" message over the past decade and to find one that doesn't outright do that is refreshing.

From the looks of his other games, the guy really like making one-shots. He struck gold with Iron Lung, but I am not sure how you can follow up with a direct sequel without ruining the world he created. Maybe he will touch on it loosely in another game.

He stuck gold with Dusk, which was popular with the old school shooter crowd and ushered in the return of boomer shooters (along with Doom 2016). It looks like he just makes whatever he wants nowadays because he can afford to.

I’d say it’s because it’s the only supernatural stuff that they actually believe in. If you actually have faith in God, then you’re going to have to believe in the antithesis of him, in Islam we call him Iblis, Satan in Christianity of course. I know many people of faith who, while they may not actually believe in the supernatural abilities of things like ouija boards, they still wouldn’t touch them with a ten foot pole, because there are other entities that do exist, and are waiting on you to dabble in such activities. It gives them an entry point, if that makes sense. So to someone who believes in the power of shaitans, or demons, or whatever, things like the Mandela Catalog may just be stupid ARGs, but they could potentially be pathways for these entities to come in and oppress you.

Ultimately Im not going to shit on the man for his faith, it’s rare to see someone of genuine conviction, and that’s respectable.

The lust room was great! I was kinda sad that NM didn't point out the path the player takes to leave had patterns on the ground that looked like pubic hair. Apart from the surgeon hand that was probably the grossest bit about the lust room.

I also really like the bit where the angel attacks the player and you see him writhing on the ground. The way the face melts into an expression of pure agony was so well done.

I've wondered about this too - she came out of nowhere and the videos seemed "real" with lo-fi audio, etc. However her email in the Youtube bio has a link to "Algebra Media" which appears to be a branding company that helps influencers on Youtube:

also her Discord is just a tiny part of a bigger Discord and her entire channel there was full of people being like "How do I contact her? I can help with a request." and replies like "She's never here anymore/she's never on Twitter anymore/maybe Patreon?". Definitely odd.
