Some supporters of Gamergate did this. Gamergate doesn't function as a corporate entity, there is no "official" Gamergate action or position. At first it may appear pedantic to point this out but it really is the kernel of most disputes about what Gamergate did or didn't "do", "believes" or doesn't "believe" (in quotes because it can't actually do these things).

So in a sense you are both correct and both wrong in that you are both committing a fallacy of composition. Gamergate is a loose affiliation of individuals with no leader, no charter document, no formal register of membership, no central decision-making mechanism. The only consensus that holds the movement together is a dissatisfaction with video games' journalism and an objection to political interference in established game genres. There is no consensus on how these broad goals are to be addressed nor any way of enforcing a consensus if one existed, i.e. there is no membership that can be nullified or possible disciplinary mechanism. Similarly, there is no centralized executive that decides who is to be "targeted". Some supporters of Gamergate blamed Rapp for censorship, some didn't. It really is as trivial and banal as that.

I can't locate it but IIRC Chris Von Csefalvay's network analysis of the the Gamergate hashtag corroborated this conclusion.

Can't say I blame her completely. Her Go Fund Me remains incomplete, as is her Kickstarter. Must suck to see someone like Rapp immediately get offers for asspat bucks soon after she got fired, while she languishes in poverty.

I'm excited to see her beg Rapp to signal-boost her own pitybux campaign.

That's cause Rapp is still young and somewhat decent looking. Kim, despite 2 kgs of makeup and heavy photoshopping, still looks like Dolores Umbridge after an acid attack.

I suspect that Kim and her partner are drug addicts--him meth, her heroin--hence their premature aging, unhealthy appearance, poor dental health, patchy work histories, poverty, e-begging etc. They know that if they revealed a drug addiction that most people will not donate anything. Most people are reluctant to give monetary handouts to drug addicts and they themselves know this so they resort to claiming PTSD, anorexia nervosa and victimization by the patriarchy, Gamergate and "The System". Everything about them, including their couplehood, screams "drug addicts!".

Who here reported her to Nintendo? Only person I saw was @Spectator who doesn't really have anything to do with GG at all.

I seriously doubt it was the KF thread about this that Nintendo acted on, or for that matter, the angry yelling of autists at all.

My money is that Nintendo offered her a severance that amounts to:

Nintendo: "We'll cut you for a neutral reason so neither of us goes through the embarrassment of a nasty firing, so while (insert real reason for firing) is true, we'll say publicly it was something bland, and so long as you don't screw it up, we won't make it to where no one will ever hire you again.

Rapp: (realizing she's even more fucked if she turns down the offer) "Deal".

Nintendo: "Excellent. Now get out of here, we'll ship all your non company shit later, just leave your company ID and get out of here for now."

I'm betting Rapp has just enough brains to realize reneging on this deal will be even worse than her current fall from grace, more or less.

She still didn't have enough brains to understand that becoming a internet slacktivist martyr would probably kill any chance of employment in a corporation . I doubt the Patreon bucks are as good as the salary of a Nintendo PR.
