The good news is that crowdfunding platforms are being made easy to build, so most CGers are already putting them together.

none of them are nearly as well known as kickstarter. In fact, people barely know about indiegogo and that was in large part because CG being an up and coming movement that brought a lot of money to the platform. Sadly, I don’t think that same trick will work again on a different platform because of the bad reputation CG has garnered for itself amongst former supporters. A lot of these smaller guys are on their own pretty much and the only ones that can survive this environment now are the bigger guys like EVS simply because of their built in in audience.

And even then there is the issue of late campaigns which will very much keep returning customers away.

First, Comicsgate leaned into this saving the West shit before pulling the fuck back. So any much deserved feeling of superiority gets blunted. I say that. Most of the Kangz weren't in CG back then....

Second, I don't know whether Gary is a true believer. He's a lifelong California lolbertarian and gay simp who libsplained why saying different lifestyle was bad, going off my memory. So his conservative credentials aren't good. But no matter how you slice it, Gary's not actually, substantively doing anything about it. He's making a show where he tard rages, selectively, about Hollywood producing bad entertainment. It's not substantive, he's not actually targeting the bad actors. Not speaking the whole truth. His audience are boomer coomers and tranny/faggy lolcows.

Third, if its just entertainment, who gives a fuck? Like, I don't have a beef with Dark Side Phil's audience who just legitimately enjoy his awful content. I generally agree. Western Comics aren't competitive, they lost their talent pool to the tech and vidya boom, and as you mentioned TV. They also lost all their 'dumb consumers' to the digital goods sector. I don't know if comicsgate and bluehairs have a grasp of what 16 to 24 y.o's are into, they don't care about culture wars or political e-drama for one.
The biggest website for Illustrators and artists in the west today is Artstation, that's just where top industry creatives and illustrators go to find work. A lot of the work people do is repetitive montonous shit for game dev pipelines (that half the time is never published due to NDA's). If you could figure out a way to attract those people into comics, or build a platform for them to fallback on in the event that there's major industry wide turmoil, then you might have a chance at making the comics 'industry' into a respectable, viable, up-to-date industry again.
You also have the Indy underground fashion / music scene, that's where most of the prolific and charismatic young artists go to build up their brands and IP, they usually dropship merch or have an online store, they're always on-top of the ground breaking fashion trends that normies take a coupe of years to catch up with.
You can cater to boomers with 90's Americana stuff, it's totally respectable, but there's a limit to who you'll reach with those genres. You need younger male and female audiences for there to be word of mouth, and an ageing dying audience is an ageing dying industry.
