What I do not understand is why the daughter would be angry at her father for his political views as an elected representative.

The current education system and specifically teachers, whether public or private, is there to be a wedge between parents and children. The current focus is to get your children get their values and opinions from the current leftist ideology. I've heard the phrase "unnatural attachment to parents" from multiple educators recently. What they mean is that a child shouldn't look to their parents for their values, they should look to the "community". This is why they fight tooth and nail to keep from informing parents about curriculum and pronoun changes. This even starts in daycare. I know multiple parents whose daycares have moved their kids to advanced milestones (no naps, less playtime) without telling parents or even against their wishes. All of this is so that they can make your children see you as the enemy. And it's working.

That's possible but again, a good parent knows what her underage thirteen year old daughter is doing. Your child's day starts at school, which is educating, not indoctrinating her, then goes to lessons afterward. Then she comes home, has a snack, does her homework and has dinner, after which you, as a parent, are aware what she's doing until she goes to bed. If she's glued to a computer/phone/tablet screen then you aren't being a good parent. When you allow kids to do as they please, of course anything can happen.

In PA, it’s hard to say if another candidate could’ve won. In GA, I think it was easily winnable and trump fucked the republicans again by picking the literal worst candidate he could have.
