I use nano. You really don’t need a fancy editor when configuring services, scripts etc…

What continues to baffle me is how for a guy who brags about how much money he has at every opportunity, he doesn't just go get facial reconstruction surgery to help with the jawline.

Fuck me. I like simple text editors and I like nano because it's easy-to-use, but I'm not gonna use it as a main editor. Tbh I think using a GUI text editor like elementary OS's Code or gedit makes more sense for most use cases than fucking around with nano. Vim & emacs are powerful, but if you don't write computer code often they're a sledgehammer when all you need is a claw hammer.

If vi is so terrible why is it that it's the one everybody learns when they start scripting and editing? It's faster than emacs and you can literally control the cursor using the keyboard in normal mode.

Nothing against nano specifically but then it's the same as when somebody pulls up some HTML editor when they can just use notepad instead. I've written webpages using only notepad. It's a critically underrated Windows application. So I tend to use vi whenever it's necessary to do some editing. It's just easier to work with.

Until it gets into a weird state and starts inserting your arrow key escape sequences into your document.
Mode based editing should have gone away as soon as there were arrow keys on every keyboard.
