The guys of American Thinker posted a rant about Disney's Splash Mountain and it hit right on target at the conclusion.

...Splash Mountain was always a mistake, so there’s no reason to keep it running. The Princess and the Frog is a movie that deserves much more recognition, and it’s great that Disney is finally giving it its due. (Having said that, until Disney stops obsessing about Critical Race Theory and LGBTQ+++ theory, I will continue to avoid all Disney products, whether movies or theme parks.)

In know I know, weebshit... But there's this series called Billy Bat that I wonder if the mouse is the reason why it never really got licensed anywhere even though the author has a pretty decent following among western weebs because of a major part of the story...

tldr: Not Walt stole Not Mickey from some random guy and the conspiracies about him being a secret nazi, the company disposing of anyone who tries to drawn and sell not mickey, and them wanting to take over the world through its brand are true.

With Iger I wouldn't put it past him to try and revive abounded projects since it would be cheaper then making something new. Biggest one would probably the old kingdom of the sun movie they scraped and made into the emperors new groove, also remember one CG movie that was in development that Roy shit canned after one screening because it was too degenerate, which would probably fit right in with current year disney.
It seems like it's probably too obscure, but as the granddaddy of the "what if X had FEELINGS?" genre, "what if household appliances had feelings?" is a ready made premise just ripe for the taking, so it's not impossible.

But it would be watered down, lacking the edge and intensity of the original, plus a lot of the original movie's character stems from the 80sness of it, imagine talking iphones and whatever, just ugh.

A reboot might have been an interesting "spiritual successor" to the Toy Story series post 3 though, before Wokeness attacked.

In a way it's nice that the "what if X had FEELINGS?" genre lives on with Pixar's Elemental, even if the movie looks kind of meh.

I hate how much I enjoyed The Santa Clauses. The writing is a little thin, but Tim Allen does his best to sell it. Some of the elves are good, too. Specifically Betty and the cop elf. The black elf is super annoying though, as is Kal Penn.

Easily the best Disney+ Original I've seen.
Tim Allen know how to made a Christmas movie unlike Seth Rogen.

It was called wildlife, from what I can gather it was about a singing elephant working in a nightclub in the 70s.
There's a few concept sketches online but iirc this is the only known test footage out there.
Interestingly some guy who claims to be the director wrote this in the comments.

Here's something that surprised me. Guess who used to own the DVD rights for the Japanese version of Hoodwinked. (known as "リトル・レッド レシピ泥棒は誰だ!?", Ritoru Reddo Reshipi Dorobō wa Dareda?, which translates to "Who is the Little Red Recipe Thief!?")

I dont see how anyone can become CEO of Disney after Iger and not immediately make priority number 1 being to get rid of current CFO and a significant part of her direct reports and her direct reports reports. Of course shes old and knows this. So if she gets passed up again I expect her to retire. I doubt close to 70 year old woman will get CEO nod. If i was a VP under her i would be terrified and figure i was tainted and on chopping block for any new CEO that i hadnt already established fealty too before their ascent.

That won't happen if she becomes the next CEO, per the rumors.

Shes a near 70 year old woman who will be opposed by the types who want the "creatives" controlling Disney internally.

Her age is a massive liability and will cause questions about if they will have to do succession crisis all over again in a couple of years.

Her pros are. 1) shes a woman 2) she knows where bodies are buried 3) she probably saved a few peoples jobs by ousting Chapek who may reward that act. Maybe. 4) the board may look at her favorably.

Her cons are 1) shes white 2) shes from finance. Finance is a pretty insular clique in most companies and viewed as an adversary to get around in big ones. She may not have the allies due to this. Shes not hollywood or media and she encouraged cost cutting in parks so allies there seem unlikely 3) she already has infamy with her quotes about reducing portion sizes so park guests are less fat 4) she was passed over and not even considered a contender over Chapek, all those calculations still apply 5) the board may look at her unfavorably. You may like the result of a Judas's actions. But you dont want them around after to stab you. Though boards are pretty well insulated from the CEO doing anything to them. She major leage ditched understood cfo decorum with what she did. 6) shes old. The board is asking for a new Ceo in 3 years with her 7) everything about her screams you would get chapek 2.0 with boobs edition.

8. the first Disney CEO since Michael Eisner/Gary Katzenberg that aint a kike.

Turning Red was nominated for Best Animated Movie for the Golden Globes recently, and if it seriously gets an Oscar nomination and win……… Well, actually, I would not know what to do since I don’t watch awards show like that.
All mainstream award shows are a joke where the winners are a selection of "popular" movies that were bought and paid for by the corporations who fund the award show and made the movies.

No one cares about either and they don't sell nearly as well when you put "won x oscar" on the movies title sleeve anymore because everyone acknowledges that the award means nothing now. The best animated oscar slot has always been a joke category though because the academy has never taken it seriously.

Most Academy members don't even pay attention to animated films. There are articles where they talk to anonymous Academy members about their votes, and most of them admit they just vote for whatever Disney movie their kids liked.

Yeah, but did it actually win a Golden Globe??? And besides the Golden Globes are much different than the Oscar's, one dealing with popularity and the other money. And besides, I don't think any of Disney's animated movies will get nominations for Oscars because they were Disney Plus only or failed to break the box office. Just saying that's all.
