Or course, it should be noted that the development of Origins was also around seven years.

A lot of that development time was focused on the lore of the world. Apparently the stuff about Flemeth's true origins and Fen'Harel eventually becoming a major antagonist was planned from the beginning. More importantly, those seven years let them do the origins themselves -- easily the most impressive thing about the original game, and something they haven't tried to do since. Considering how much clamor there's been to bring back the various origins since DA2 dropped them, there's really no excuse not to do so, given the almost decade they've had to do it.

Look, you have a good point. I just don't trust nuBioWare to use all that time wisely to make an actually decent game. I desperately hope to be wrong.

That's in the adventure module they adapt the game from. Amber E. Scott was the writer and she's notorious for adding troon shit in everything. Like that Baldur's Gate expansion from a couple of years ago.
Oh the one where Amber E. Scott fucked up Iomedae by making her ooc with all characterization until then?

They did a re-release of ME1 with updated graphics didn't they? If they did the same with Origin and added a voice actor for the Warden, I would actually be tempted to go for it and have another play through. I bet there's still some dialogue interactions between the characters I haven't heard. I have fond memories of Leliana and Morrigan bitching at each other.

DA:I wasn't as good. Though I do recall Jenny asking Cassandra if she "had ever punched a bear" which amused me for some reason.

Imagine planning all that stuff out but by the time you get to them your company has turned into modern BioWare.

Imagine turning over your copious worldbuilding and lore, stories to fill a dozen games, a lot of it carefully planned out so as to surprise and delight your fans years after the first game, to this fucking guy:

And this one's not even the tranny.

The good thing in all of this is that no matter how it'll turn out, it will finally be the end of the series, bar yet another massive bitch cliffhanger for the third time in a row.
It'll still be the end since no way Biotroon will survive for much longer.

Bioware developed the weirdest audience. Once the romances became a thing, they slowly developed this cult of fujoshis who squealed over gay romances in everything.
I'll confess to being one of the Tumblrinas (though I never used Tumblr) back in 2010 arguing that it was weird that Mass Effect allowed for straight and lesbian relationships* but gay male shit was off the table despite the fact that I know plenty of gaybros who played that game. I can't speak for anyone else, but I was just arguing from an inclusivity standpoint, I've never been into yaoi or whatever. I apologize.

* and don't argue with me about the asari being a monogender species, that's just the spaceshit equivalent of "she's actually a 3,000 year old demon, she just looks 12." Liara is absolutely a woman.

I can answer that one, lesbians are a shitload more marketable to men who were the primary players of the series. Then they realized that male on male has a shitload of women who like it and now loads of dudes are either protagonist sexual or bi.

There was actually a plan for MaleShep/Kaiden romance, but it got cut for time. Apparently the French dialog was recorded and is still buried in the code somewhere.

Remember, Mass Effect was after Jade Empire, which had gay male romance options. It stands to reason that it want a deliberate exclusion.

Thanks both. So I've actually played the Divinity II game and not finished it. I found the humour in it very off-putting. If it's the one I'm thinking of. There were giggling skull bombs. I liked the fact things interacted with the environment in interesting ways but I just couldn't get into the game. The Pillars of Eternity I played through the first and did enjoy. But the second didn't grab me and it was the same with Tyranny.

I hadn't heard at all about the Pathfinder games. Looks like they could be fun. And Holy Crap they're doing a Rogue Trader RPG? Okay - think I pretty much have to buy this. Cheers!

EDIT: Oh fuck me! Not only do you have Xenos party members but in the same party as a Sister of Battle. Ow! Right in the Lore!

I wouldn't recommend Kingmaker. Wrath is better in every possible way.
If you have to, play the pc version. The console version of Kingmaker is notoriously buggy and Owlcat lost the license so there won't be any more update ever. It was what make owlcat lost a lot of goodwill to me tbh. There are feats and items in Kingmaker that, to this day, still doesn't work because they aren't even programmed in.

It will end with a 40 minute speech by Solas that Krem has taught him reality itself is non-binary and then tearing down the veil so there is only a single world. Then everyone will have spirit sex with everyone else except the Templars. They will now be wearing Red Lyrium hats with Make Anders Straight Again on them and they'll be banished by the Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor from all three games who are now in a poly-relationship.

And Jenny will steal everybody's pants in an epilogue cut scene because that's hilarious.

Then I swear I'll make a mod where you can join the KKK Templars and kill all the fags.
Like those Mass Effect 3 alternate ending mods.

Apropos of nothing, the KKK were Democrats like the Clintons, Joe Biden and their mentors. I don't know who you want as a model for an anti-degeneracy crusade. I'd say the Nazis maybe but then they had a large gay sex group before they purged it. I think Islam would probably be the best model for the Templars you want. And as religious enforcers they're actually on their way.

I'll never understand what people have against ME: Andromeda, besides the fact that they should have just dropped the ME from the title and called it Andromeda to make it a completely separate game set in the ME universe, and not part of the ME series. Yes, the models and animations were crap, that was disappointing, but it wasn't a killer issue.

I would literally sacrifice perverse quantities of small children on an unholy pagan altar if they would do a remaster of DA-Origins.

I'd eat my own shit before I'd praise those kid fucking, protosocialist, desert raiders lol
Also islam isn't a religion. It's a deen.

They have 2 sequels in development, that we only have teasers for, and there is little reason to believe they won't be dogshit. The KOTOR remake, which is a safer bet, will probably be outsourced, and of questionable quality too. Bioware really needs a game that sells well, and soon. If not, the back of the barn is waiting. And honestly, it would be a mercy.

Last I heard, KOTOR hit the wall in development by whomever is making it.
I really, really want to hope that DA4 will not suck enough and will finish off the series in a passable way, but we'll see about that shit.
I have no hope for Mass Effect tho. Is anybody from the old games even working on it anymore?
