I haven't seen any photos of Gomez that proves he's at the vet. If this vet is preventing people coming into the clinic due to CoVD, it surprises me they're not doing what a ton of vet clinics are doing - texting a photo or 2 a day to worried owners. Maybe that's just local to my part of Leafland but I doubt it - it's an easy way to assure owners their pets are doing well.

I didn't think she could make my jaw drop anymore but her answer to accusations of not doing anything: "I've been begging for months"... man, she has no connection with reality.

I don't know who is trying to arrange foster care but they've put more effort into Polissa's cats over a few days than she has in probably years. Sadly, I agree they're wasting their time. Nobody tells POLISSA what to do!

An extremely healthy, well bred rattie can live up to three and a half years, but those are the gold star exceptions. The vast majority of domestic rats have a lifespan of eighteen to twenty four months, no matter how good your husbandry or veterinary surgeon is. I've been keeping rats for fifteen odd years, and I've had maybe four that lived past three years old. Maybe other rat keepers have better luck than I do- I have a bad habit of collecting secondhand animals, which tend to have extremely random genetics and wonky health- but generally, if you keep rats, you will be syringing antibiotics down their little throats sooner rather than later. They are horrendously prone to respiratory illness and very sensitive to air quality, and if Polissa's gunyah is a fraction as feral as we think, any domestic rats living there are going to be very sick, very quickly. On top of that, you know any rat she keeps would be fed cat food or just subsist on any random garbage she throws into the cage. From what I remember of the cage photo she did show, it was bare wire, which is terrible for inducing infections like bumblefoot. Ratties are also very susceptible to benign tumours, especially does.

80% of the time I take my little girls to the vet, it's either because they're wheezing or they need lumps cut off. I love my ratties and wouldn't be without them, but they are raging hypochondriacs and when anyone tells me they're considering getting vermin for the first time, I often find myself trying to talk them out of it.

Either:

a: she has the ultimate pinnacle of domestic rat genetics just going to waste in her house
b: it's not the same rat
or
c: the rat is long dead and she's using its memory to grift
