This was originally its own thread, and after some discussion, I have decided to just make a dump post of it here:

I want to make this abundantly clear. This is, by and large, the most heinous thing I’ve seen online. This will be NSFW at the least and beyond NSFL at it’s worst. As far as I’m concerned, I am the only person here to have found or covered them yet.

Background:
So, I made a thread just recently about true crime fans, the community and trends around it, along with people who romanticize serial killers. All basic stuff, a couple good laughs, some disgust, and curiosity. I went to look into fans of serial killers and learn more, when I came across this Tumblr tag and this user:



I noticed 3 things:
1.) He is, of course, dating a minor



2.) He follows a lot of accounts who tag #actually necro and #TCC (true crime community)

3.) He has a legit obsession with mass shooters and post some of these lovely memes of them







Neat. At this point, I’m not too surprised. Just some grooming faggot who likes shooters, I had already talked about romanticizing killers in the True Crime thread. So, I dug a little deeper, and looked at who he follows.

And this is where the wagon wheels fell off.






Unbelievably, #actually necro contains actual necro.
And there is a lot I’m leaving out here. As much as I could post it in a spoiler, even I think it’s a bit much. When I say I sifted through actual snuff edits, real corpses, self mutilation, and more fucking confessions of love for necrophilia; I mean I legit saw some of the most depraved things imaginable.
I considered posting some of what I saw, but even I have a moral compass of sorts.

But I am going to link a few of these lunatics as a way of exposing them and shed light on these delinquent maniacs. They are, of course, mainly trans. I’m sure that’s completely unrelated.

Even though I love true crime, this time of content makes me cringe so hard, specially the asian mukbang one, her videos are awful and she takes a fucking long time to tell the story. I prefer the ones that are actually respectful to the victims and their families that don't drag the video for too long for views and don't leave important details out.

The Dahmer show did a lot of damage, of course, but there's also the Bundy movie with Zac Efron and AHS with a pretty actor doing Richard Ramirez that didn't help AT ALL and made a lot of young women think that they were little lovely blorbos uwu.

And the Columbine ones, ugh. Bit of powerlevel but I knew two people who were killed in a school shooting and whenever someone praises Harris and Klebold in front of me I tell them that fact and watch their face go through a full range of emotions, it's hilarious.

To finish, I think that most of the people who are into true crime nowadays treat the cases as some fantastical fictional story, kind of like reading an Agatha Christie book, and forget that those were real people with families, dreams and a whole life ahead of them. It's easy to remove yourself and have zero empathy when this kind of content is so sensationalized and you haven't been affected in anyway by a heinous crime.

This thread has potential, I like it.

I actually knew a school shooter. It was an adult man targeting his wife as she was picking a friend's children up. But it got the whole school locked down and I had relatives who were in the building. He was a really nice guy as far as anyone could see and you never would have known that he'd do such a thing. Previous to killing his wife he killed his dog and claimed it was an accident. Poor Elijah the German shepherd. He was a cool dog. I still think about him sometimes.

That's why this "Oh Jeffrey/Richard/Ted/Dylan/Eric are suck sweet little cinnamon rolls" makes me sick. No matter what they might have pretended to be in the end they were still monsters. These aren't "bad boys" who broke some windows and stole some beer. They are monsters who murdered innocent people.

Natural Born Killers was really ahead of it's time with this stuff.

The Websleuths site is wild enough to possibly warrant a mention - they definitely consider themselves part of each case and take it VERY seriously. Mods have to lock threads daily because nobody can follow the rules and if a detective dares question "internet sleuths" they lose their minds.

I was looking at their thread on the Moscow murders from a few weeks ago and it is chaos - everyone has a dumb theory, nobody reads previous posts because it's impossible to follow so it's just the same questions looping, and they think they're helping. Lots of history there too.

Some ladies on there are reasonable and smart, and I have no idea why they hang around. Probably because other True Crime communities are a cesspool.

They also use a stupid amount of acronyms so every thread is filled with people asking 'wtf does this mean'?

And they're out of money so there are now threads like:

Old timey true crime fans were worse. After the Bath School Massacre in 1927, thousands of people from out of state showed up in town to gawk at the scene of the crime and take home pieces of the victims like pieces of intestines or skull shards as souvenirs.

I read this same thing happened with the Lawson family murders (1929), with people just taking things out of the house. At least as soon as crime became "solvable" (with actual detectives instead of just a town mob), people have been fascinated by both the process of investigations and the psychology of the criminals. Most media that sticks to those things is fine, it just gets really, really weird with some people.

One of the biggest issues that I have with the True Crime Community is all the narratives surrounding the crimes. Like for instance, if it's a woman in a relationship who disappears, everyone is quick to blame the boyfriend (even if the boyfriend had nothing to do with the disappearance).

Also, speaking of true crime, I feel that is an untapped genre due to it being previously dominated by mainstream news and long form investigations. Nowadays nobody does investigative journalism no more, so True Crime videos, like JCS that put a lot of effort (until the stupid mother fucker put screamers and lowered the restricted age view) are what people want to see just for morbid curiosity.

I just wish the new Chris Hansen pedo catchers series would be cool and feature a tranny.

Websleuths will provide a lot of milk. Most of the site participants come off as middle aged, bored housewives.

I have a friend who I’ve known for a few years. He is a cop, who was involved in the Heather Elvis case, from Myrtle Beach (not a detective). The last time that it went to trial, in September 2019, I glanced at the Websleuths thread for it. I had only ever heard of it from true crime podcasts, and they didn’t say anything outright negative about it. But also not outright positive.

When it was his time to take the witness stand, the first few messages were just gushing over how attractive he was, compared to the others. There were a couple of comments like that under the Law and Crime Network YouTube video (which is a good source for true crime content, they post actual court streams). But it was not as bad as it was on WebSleuths. Forget about the (most likely) dead girl, there’s a cute cop on screen!

Turned me away from it completely.
