Warhammer 40k

Midwinter Minis just had to pull out of a charity livestream due to being sad about "family issues"
I wonder if it's because his family doesn't want to see him and his new 23 year old girlfriend, after his now ex-wife took their twins and left because he was sleeping with said 23 year old.
Reminder that he moved the new girl into his house within days of his wife leaving.

I would actually care about the space marine game if it was about anyone other than the boring ultramarines.
This steadfast dedication into pushing the blue boys as well as the even lamer imperial fists when just about every other successor chapter is more interesting or in possession of a character-defining quirk.
To everyone who hates UM: "You hate us because you anus"

Sorry Big Gorilla Dick Bobby G is back and kicking ass/taking names. Not everyone can carry their Imperium on their back, primarch status not even factored in.

Also the IF hate is more baffling honestly. Those dudes are underappreciated if anything.

'ate orks.
'ate jeanstealers.
'ate 'nids.
'ate eldars.
'ate dark eldars.
'ate space commies.
'ate 'crons.
'ate chaos.

Yeah, Empire's a shithole. But it's the shithole with humanity's survival on the schedule. So I'll die, horribly, violently. But I'll die defending my fellow man from getting eaten, taken to drukhari sex dungeons, taken by space commies, or worse.

Simple as.

Not much of a surprise you play a smurf in the first one. The main character and one of the secondaries were perhaps the most reasonably not-up-their-own-ass Ultra that existed in the universe. Naturally one of the plot beats was another Ultra getting pissant because you didn't follow the Codex close enough.

I was expecting the next game to have you playing in a Deathwatch squad since the story ends with the MC being in the custody of an Inquisitor. Though it may be a significant time skip and now you're out to give the bugs a squashing.
it just sounded more what a dark angel would say, not "muh shining knights" ultrasmurfs.
don't even mind the blue boys that much, simply wish they'd keep stuff like that more distinct.

Oh, didn't know the squig buggy got nerfed, I was actually thinking of getting that at some point.

The squig buggy itself got nerfed, then buggies as a whole were restricted to a maximum of 3 of each, then indirect fire as a mechanic got nerfed. Now the squig buggy is okay if you don't use it to fire out of LOS but not the monster it was when the codex first dropped.

Is it worth the points to bash an ancient into a BGA if I'm only running like 3 bladeguard? I'm planning on running an ancient either way, and I can currently afford to do this, but idk if I should just spend the points elsewhere, make room for more bladeguard to justify it more, or just do it.

I get you but 'His Angels of Death' is something Marines have been called as a whole due to their tactics of showing up, drop podding in and then shitting on everything. Might actually get to see some up to date chapter specific outfits in Multiplayer though. I enjoyed that system and always ran around in the beakie gear. Just looks nice.

Ancients are shit ruleswise but if you want to make a BGA for the sake of cool then knock yourself out, just know that until 10th drops the model might not see that much use or success in the table.

Playing templars and they have some synergy and fluff to them. I don't want to be too competitive but I want the list to be somewhat competent and sensemaking. Sake of cool seems like the best option to protect from me being horribly wrong though, something cool to put in my display if I ever replace him

Reactions: Tism the Return II
Finished reading Twice Dead King duology. First book was really good and displayed the more tragic side of the Necrons, however the second book was worse.
First of all, it's once again it's Necrons vs. Humans, which was already in the first book and is pretty uninteresting. It's also repetitive with "oh those dumb humans using ancient technology like kinetic weapons, which somehow beat our armor made from dead suns" (which is itself weird since just about every other faction uses some kinetic weapon). In general I hate how basically every race in the setting calls humans as primitive, including ones who are barely a footnote in the Imperium.
The second is that the whole book is a single drawn out chase scene, which gets old and kind of plays fast and loose with how inaccurate warp jumps are in lore.
Finally, the last 1/6 of the book feels like a retcon of the Flayers curse and the previous book (as well as some weird trans analogy). Basically becoming afflicted doesn't make you crazy (despite it being shown to have ruined several Necron kingdoms, and you should just embrace and inner you and get your happy ending.

If you still use the marvel boogey man as this excuse for Warhammer I can never take it seriously
I swear part of me wants to say this is 90% projection over Marvel (and Disney) ruining star wars so every sci-fi franchise has to be developing into marvel shit since "every sci-fi franchise still takes it's cue to what star wars is doing" or some retarded crap like that.

Imo There is a large amount of people that consume both star wars and warhammer 40k content, so when Gw ponders to their interest the people who don't consume star wars freak out. The majority of people who like 40k aren't /tg/ hyper neets but are middle-aged dudes with a job and disposable income and thus don't have the time to give a shit about Fandom identity.

Yeah I agree that there's a good amount of people who consume both because there's not much overlap besides the superficial sci-fi space war setting so I kinda think that the idea implying one of is on the verge of turning into marvel shit because the other one became marvel shit is a bit dumb.

Who knows this post might age badly in a few years but I kind the only reason I think Warhammer isn't as infested has nothing to do with the setting people like arch or Sargon claim but because it's a unorganized mess of a company.
There are certainly individual writers who fit the bill but I don't recall ever hearing about a head creative director who determines how much of a spotlight each faction gets, how they are portrayed, and what the overall message of each universe is. And if there is one they seem to be content letting authors get all the credit if it's good and be the fall guys when something bombs.

I think the concept of 40k itself is antithetical to trannies and that inherently protects the IP. The hobby is spread across a bunch of books, the tabletop and some other shit so it's not like they can latch to everything and shit it up. It's pretty easy to ignore retarded lap-everything-up-if-it-has-a-Primarch-on-it plebbitors and the tabletop game is expensive if you don't know what you're doing, it requires of you the effort to get things painted and done. All that too dissuades them.

Besides 40k is not some bing bing wahoo sci-fi adventure world, it's a mostly sexless (additional anti-tranny modifier), soul-crushing battlefield in which any attempts at making things better and owning the galactic chuds would end with your little party of retards getting blasted from orbit faster than you can tweet. It destroys the kind of narrative trannies root for. The 40k trannies tend to be people that were into it first and after becoming bigger degenerates need to make mental gymnastics to adjust their interest in an eeeevil alt-right nazi interest with being LGBTQABC123CIAFBIwhatever.

It does help that one of the Chaos god is the tranny lifestyle personified. Any time they try to push their stuff in a valid response is always "GET YOUR FILTH OUT OF THE EMPIROR'S LIGHT HERERTIC!"

What makes you think any of this immunizes it? The classical 'hobby takeover' from that one meme image, as well as many destructions of media we've seen have not at all requiredthe trannies actually consooming the property in question. They destroy it and then take the victory, they don't have to even be into it.

You're right, but they also attack this as the "Slaanesh Problem". Seeing a change to Chaos would be the final sign that the ship's taken on too much water and can't be saved. Because of course nothing can be 'ontologically evil' except TERFs and Kiwi Farms.
