I am terribly late here, but I was very surprised when the Supreme Court overruled
Roe vs Wade and
Doe vs Colton I actually fel tha those rulings would be repealed long after I am dead, not recently!
Myself, I was Manic tha those rulings were overruled, partially because I am truly, honestly pro-life, partially because Roe vs Wade was established through bad law (Aside from violating the Separation of Powers,
the rulings were based on lies.), partially because I was going to enjoy the comparisons to
The Handmaid's Tale. Indeed, I found funny how the pro-choicers were talking about being refugees... Apparently, the repeal of
Roe vs Wade unleashed a legion of Charas on the United States...
Clarence Thomas also said that he was going to repeal the rulings that 'supported' same-gender marriage and sodomy... I hope so, though I also hope that he is going to overrule that 100-miles-from-the-border law.
I did find a few concerning points, though. Apparently...
- ... you can still send abortion-inducing drugs through the mail, since tampering with mail is a federal crime.
- ...there are women being forced to do pregnancy checks whenever they cros state borders on suspicions tha they are trying to ge to abortions in other states.
- ...methotrexate is a no-go even to women who legitimately need the stuff (see: women with arthritis) because methotrexate can be abortofacient.
- ...from all of the people freaking out over what would happen if they got pregnant... you would think that, despite decades of public schools and Planned Parenthood giving students step-to-step descriptions of how to pound tom-toms, they would be aware tha they ca not randomly get pregnant from repealed laws.
